A perfect alternative for people who find Samaria too early or too far. A good balance between hiking and walking. Even children love this adventurous hike.
In 2000 we, Eye Travel, discovered a gorge near Hersonissos and started organising tours through this gorge guided by one of the Eye Travel team.
This gorge is about 8 km long, takes around 3,5 hours and has some obstacles on the way down. You will see untouched nature, some birds of prey, vultures,... The real Cretan flora and fauna.
You can book this tour exclusively with us, Eye Travel. See some of the pictures to get an impression. This tour is a must when you are on Crete ! Real nature. Rock formation. Discover your own limits.

5.00You definitely get away from civilization, which was really nice. The hike follows a riverbed and there is a lot of climbing over and around huge rocks. Balance is a must. Our guide, Louise, was awesome. She provided a running commentary about Cretan culture. We learned about growing and harvesting olives. She pointed out various plants and described their uses. We saw goats and vultures. The hike took about 3 hours. We would highly recommend this adventure!

5.00We had an excellent trip with our guide Luisa! It was approximately 3 hours long- we got collected promptly from our hotel and arrived at the beautiful gorge. The views and scenery were amazing- Luisa was a fantastic guide, always helpful, informative and full of energy. Would recommend doing this with proper shoes and for people who are not afraid to climb rocks! Would highly recommend. We were also accompanied by our dear friend/ dog named Oaty who made the trip even better :)

5.00The hiking was really very nice, also the guide was very pleasant, and gave interesting information about the plants and history of Crete. We were also allowed to set the pace of the walk ourselves, so we could take pictures when we wanted. In short: a top excursion!

5.00Luise, our guide, made the trip absolutely memorable. She was so well informed, taught us so much about nature, the gorge and Greek culture. And, had an infectious energy. The gorge was beautiful and really fun to hike- but she took the experience to new heights!! We adored her and this excursion!

5.00This gorge is really a gorge walk (hiking). TOP no worn footpath where you can just walk. Here you really have to climb and descend with great nature. And our guide, Louise, was just a TOPPER. Knew a lot to tell and very cozy. This gap is (actually) a must to do once.

5.00I booked this tour before arriving and was impressed with the response. Picked up on time, and only a small group of 5 plus guide, which made it more enjoyable. Guide took time to explain what we would be doing and at no point felt rushed and able to take things at our own pace. Lunch provided was very good and plentiful. Would recommend company and walk.
