Welcome to our Private Jewish Tour in São Paulo, led by an expert guide who will take you on a fascinating journey through the history, culture, and traditions of the Jewish community in Brazil's largest city.
On this 5-hour tour, you'll discover significant sites such as São Paulo's first synagogue, founded in 1912 in the Bom Retiro neighborhood, the traditional and Jewish neighborhood of Higienópolis, and the Jewish Museum of São Paulo, which was recently restored and reopened to the public with modern and moving exhibitions.
We'll also visit a Beit Chabad synagogue, and to complete the experience, you can enjoy a meal at a kosher restaurant (optional). Along the way, your guide will also present other city landmarks and interesting facts.
Important tip: Museum admissions and meals are not included in the tour price.

Memorial da Imigracao Judaica e do Holocausto
The São Paulo Holocaust Memorial is a space for memory and reflection dedicated to preserving the history and lessons of the Holocaust. Inaugurated in November 2017, it's located on the top floor of the Jewish Immigration Memorial, in the old Bom Retiro synagogue, one of the most traditional neighborhoods of São Paulo's Jewish community. The memorial features an interactive and audiovisual collection that includes photographs, videos, historical objects, and artistic installations. These elements sensitively and educationally narrate the horrors experienced by millions of Jews during World War II, promoting awareness about the dangers of antisemitism and intolerance. Admission is free, by prior appointment, and offers an impactful experience that invites empathy, respect, and the appreciation of human rights.

5.00David, our tour guide, knows São Paulo, in general, and Jewish São Paulo, in particular, like the back of his hand. We visited the former and current Jewish neighborhoods and their synagogues and the immigration museum with its Holocaust memorial. Over the course of the tour, we learned a great deal about the history of Jews in São Paulo and Jewish life in the city in the present. David was very friendly and accommodating. We also enjoyed the culinary aspect of the tour, purchasing challah at a kosher bakery and eating felafel. Regrettably, there wasn’t enough time to visit the Jewish Museum; we’ll have to visit it on our own. We highly recommend this tour.

5.00My trip started with arranged airport transfer driver Moacir Braun. Very organized, prompt, and friendly with all the amenities- charger gum, water, and snacks. Doris picked me up from my hotel and she is a very knowledgeable, funny, and lovely person to spend a few hours with. She is knowledgeable about Sao Paolo, the Jewish community, and the Jewish history. Gave lots of great recommendations for places to see and places to eat.

5.00We had an excellent tour in Sao Paolo with Adi. He showed us Sao Paolo attractions as well as Jewish history and neighborhoods. We learned about his own family and their experiences in Brazil. We had lunch at an Israeli restaurant and tried genuine Brazil chocolate

He explained very interesting details about the Jewish history of São Paulo and took us to see the Jewish neighborhoods, club, museum, and multiple synagogues. Of particular interest at the museum was the story of how Jewish people immigrated to the Amazon. We also had a great lunch at an Israeli restaurant. I am partially disabled and he was very patient and assistive. He has our highest recommendation!

5.00Adi accommodated our changing flight schedule and picked us up from the airport from where the tour began. He also allowed us to secure our luggage in our hotel to minimize the risk of theft. Adi provided advice for restaurants and was unhurried and very thorough… like a friend. Great guy snd tour.

5.00Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He was able to blend his own life experiences with Local Jewish History. He brought us to a culturally relevant Jewish restaurant for lunch. I will always remember this experience! Great!
