Please note that two of our regular stops are currently closed. Our guide will take you to alternative restaurants, so you’ll still enjoy a full and delicious experience.

This is a tour about 'The Dark Side' of Hong Kong. We explore Kowloon discovering some of the 'darker' topics; poverty, triads, prostitution, grey markets.
We cover between 7 and 9 food stops and try to include two Michelin-rated eats on every tour

Sham Shui Po District
Private Kowloon tours can be booked for any day of the week and can start at any time between 1 pm and 5 pm. Your night tour lasts 4 hours, 5 hours if you book the tour, and also require a hotel pick-up.

This is a tour is a 4-hour exploration of the Kowloon Side. we’ll explore three unique districts of Kowloon, savor Michelin-rated street food, and immerse ourselves in the vibrant local culture. Your tour starts in Sham Shi Po, the least affluent district in Hong Kong. Don’t come here for a fancy gourmet meal. Instead, come here if you want to try Michelin-recommended noodles and snacks that won't make a dent in your pocket. Here your local guide will take you on a street food tour to discover the best local eats and introduce you to the local culture and living environment. The exact itinerary may vary based on the day, weather, and group preferences, but here are some highlights: -Cheung Fun (Rice Noodle Rolls) - Beef and Egg Sandwich: - Wife Cake - Tong Shui (Chinese Dessert Soups) (This is not a Michelin star food tour as Viator describes it - Viator refuses to remove that description even though we have told them it is misrepresenting our tour).

4.00Mel was a fun and engaging tour guide who wanted to share his city with us. He made us taste a variety of local yummy fruits and street foods. I wish we had done more of the Michelin places and earlier in the tour. But other the that, I would recommend Mel's tour to anyone.

5.00The directions provided for the meeting location and instructions on how to contact our guide were both clear and concise, making it easy to find the starting point and connect with our guide. Our guide, Mel, was fantastic and exceptionally engaging throughout the entire experience. Over the course of our four hours together, Mel consistently answered all our questions and offered deep insights into the Sham Shui Po area. Because our group was small, we had the flexibility to choose from a variety of different foods to sample. There was certainly more than enough food provided for everyone. While I won't spoil the surprises by listing every dish, I would like to highlight the meat and egg sandwich, which was delicious on its own but elevated to another level when paired with the inhouse-made chili sauce. All the venues we visited maintained high standards of hygiene, and I felt completely confident in the quality of the food we enjoyed. Thank you to Hello Hong Kong and, most importantly, to Mel for providing such a wonderful evening. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in exploring the culinary delights of Sham Shui Po.

5.00Fantastic Hong Kong Food Tour – A Must-Do Experience! I had a wonderful experience on this food tour in Hong Kong. My guide Sinclair was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, taking me to try authentic local dishes and hidden gems I would never have found on my own. Beyond the delicious food, the tour offered a deeper understanding of Hong Kong’s local life, culture, and history. It felt like exploring the city through the eyes of someone who truly loves it. Overall, it was an excellent and memorable experience – highly recommended for anyone who wants to taste and understand the real Hong Kong!

5.00Our tour guide, Mel, was one of the best we have ever had in all our years of travel. He guided us for 4 hours on the streets, side streets of Hong Kong and the areas not usually visited by tourists. We enjoyed great food, good conversation and thoroughly enjoyed our time with Mel. He was knowledgeable, patient, had a great sense of humour and was open to any requests we had. Definitely recommend !

5.00We had an amazing private tour with Kiyo in March 2025! He took us to so many places we never would have explored on our own, and we learned a ton about life in Hong Kong. We went to a few Michelin spots and had this amazing chilled noodle dish we still talk about. We've been on a bunch of food tours and this one was excellent, one of our favorites. Thank you!
