  We enjoyed the most amazing day trip ever from Lisbon to Sintra! Carolina was a sweet and knowledgeable host and we had a blast. She pretty much had to push us out of the car at the end of the day haha. There were three couples on the tour, and we all highly recommend this tour!

  It was a great tour! The host, Frederico (Fred) was awesome. He communicated well before the trip, before the pickup, and during the trip. He gave us options on the tour, listened to our preferences, , was patient, friendly, and was very knowledgable about the city. He never made us feel rushed. He offered recommendations for the remainder of our trip too. I would highly recommend the tour and Fred as a host for any tour

  Was an amazing experience and day. We've never done a private tour before but very glad we did. Margarida was a wonderful guide. Very friendly and chatty from the start. And so knowledgeable on everything Sintra. She clearly loves her job and it shows with her enthusiasm which made the day so much better for us. The tour itself was brilliant. What I really liked about 'The Host' was we got to customise our tour and dictate what we wanted to see and what our priorities were. I couldn't find another company that offered this, and at such a good price too. Sintra is beautiful, but it was made so much better with our guide than doing it by ourselves. Can't recommend the company and Margarida enough!

  This is definitely a 5 star. My husband and I booked a full day private tour. We were met at the airport by Frederico, our guide in a very comfortable car. The tour was completely tailored to our requests, and we got to see exactly what we wanted. Fred’s knowledge of Lisbon’s history is outstanding. I highly recommend this tour.

  If you want an awesome day in Sintra don’t miss this private tour! Frederico is a Sintra local and a fabulous tour guide. He gave us just the right amount of background information and history and took us all over Sintra. We had lunch at a lovely restaurant overlooking the ocean that we would never have found without him. From local bakeries to magical palaces this tour had it all ! Thank you Frederico!!!

  We saw everything we wanted to in Lisbon! A great tour for anyone who doesn’t have the time to find their way through Lisbon on their own. Lovely tour guide who accommodated our specific tastes and found ways to make our tour personalized with a lovely seafood lunch by the river side.

  Spectacular! Tatiana shared her love and knowledge of Lisbon beyond our expectations! We loved the ginja in a chocolate cup and Belem pastry from the original source. Her driving skills are super human and made us feel like we were part of the neighborhoods. Super amazing experience, thank you Tatiana!

  We did a half day tour of the city with Frederico to kick off a 5-week stay in Portugal. He did a great job of helping us to get oriented and made suggestions about places we could explore later. Fred is knowledgeable, thoughtful and a pleasure to be around. His approach is just the right balance of history, current context and local knowledge. We really enjoyed our morning, got everything we wanted and needed from the tour and would highly recommend The Host. Thanks, Frederico!

  We took a private tour with Amigo Fred on a gorgeous sunny Lisbon day. He picked us up promptly in his comfortable VW convertible and whisked us away for a whirlwind tour of the best view points in the city. We got great photos and an introduction to this beautiful city of seven hills. He tailored the Tour to our interests and we were able to decide what to do for the remaining time we had in Lisbon. We learned of the history and culture of Lisbon from a charming and friendly local. He gave us many useful tips that we applied for the rest of our visit. His communication was excellent as were his English skills. We liked him so much that we did a second private tour to Sintra in his nice minivan.
