Mae Klong Railway Market (Hoop Rom Market)
Maeklong Railway Market is a traditional Thai market selling fresh vegetables, food, and fruit. The market is unique because it occupies part of a train line. A few times a day, a train runs directly through the market. A few minutes before the train comes, vendors lower their umbrellas and move some of their produce away from the train tracks. Some are left on the ground, with the train passing right over them. Amazingly, nothing gets damaged or broken, and as soon as the train passes, the vendors move their goods back onto the tracks and continue as normal (until the next train arrives).

5.00Had a private guide and driver. She new how to get through the crowds..Floating market and boat ride were great..Guy running the boat even let me drive the longtail. Id go again and recommend for sure.

5.00This is a fun day trip out of Bangkok. Both my driver and my guide were very friendly and attentive and made my day out at the markets feel comfortable and enjoyable. The markets themselves are quite busy/ touristy but also fun and definitely not to be missed while in Bangkok.

5.00What an amazing day. I booked this tour day before with a pickup from my hotel. My guide, Oil, found me. The car pulled up and off we went. It was about an hour drive out to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market with plenty of sites to see along the way, and Oil was narrating as we went along. We got to the River Market and found our boat and took off. About halfway through, I asked if I could get a shot at driving the long boat, and the operator said I could. I guess being a professional boat captain myself helped convince him. We made it back to the area where we boarded and walked around a bit, then left and headed towards the Maeklong Railway Market. We found a good spot to watch the train come in and it was something to see and experience. On the way back to Bangkok we stopped at the Maeklong Salt Lake Farm, had some coffee, some Sticky rice we had gotten at the market and I put my drone up for some nice shots of the operation. Highly recommend this trip and Oil as a guide.
