During this experience, you will cook authentic Mexican dishes with your host Lucía in her spacious home kitchen and learn some of her favorite cooking tips and techniques! Lucía can cook a wide variety of Mexican dishes, from traditional family recipes passed down through generations of home cooks, to modern dishes using fresh, local ingredients.
Your menu will be based on the season and might include dishes like potato leek soup, albondigas en salsa de chile chipotle mecos (meatballs in a smoked chili sauce), sopa de nopalitos (cactus paddles in bean broth), fideo soup (Mexican noodle soup), traditional moles (savory meat dishes cooked in spice and chili sauce) and chile en nogada (stuffed poblano chilies, smothered in creamy walnut sauce).

5.00We could not be more thrilled with our experience with Lucia. She met us at the market and gave us a tour of some of the kiosks and gave insights for some of the ingredients we were going to use that day for our class. From there, she drove us to her lovely home where we spent the next 3 hours preparing our dishes. We appreciated that this was a hands-on experience. She guided and gently corrected as we prepared native dishes. (She wrote to us ahead of time to ensure that we liked her plan and made amendments based on our suggestions. ) After preparations, we sat on her lovely appointed patio and ate the fruits of our labors. If you're looking for a unique experience while visiting beautiful Mexico City, I highly recommend this. Lucia, I hope you see this: If you're ever in the Washington, DC, area, allow us to host you in our home. It's our turn to cook. Julio and Michael

5.00We had a wonderful morning making sopas, tortillas, quesadillas, and other tasty bites. We learned new herbs and techniques. It was relaxing and informative such a beautiful place. We explored close by neighborhood for a complete day.

5.00Our group of four had an amazing time with Lucia! Lucia was a clear and effective teacher for cooking delicious tacos, sopes, mole, and dessert and we returned home with new recipes and skills. We also enjoyed chatting with her about Mexican history while dining in her beautiful home. Her insights on Mexican culture, food, and history provided valuable perspective on our entire trip. 5.00There were 5 of us in the group for Lucia's cooking class. Lucia welcomed us warmly to her lovely home. We were all given tasks to contribute to the meal. Lucia was very organized and kept everything moving along with guidance and easy to follow instructions. Lucia also included background info on some of the ingredients we used so we all learned something new! The food we made was all delicious! We sat outside on her patio to eat the lunch we'd made and enjoyed her beautiful, lush green yard! We enjoyed the opportunity to experience something outside of the typical tourist sites and to get to know a local. Thanks you Lucia!

5.00Lucia is such a great source of knowledge on Mexican cooking and made the whole experience so much fun! The mole sauce, various salsas, tortillas, and various fillings for other dishes that we learned to make in particular were exquisite! Highly recommend this for anyone with a love of food and an appreciate of the culinary arts within CDMX!

5.00We had a most wonderful time cooking with Lucia. Before our experience, she provided a proposed menu with options to change it (we didn’t). The actual experience was wonderful - we prepared ingredients, cooked the dishes, and enjoyed the delicious food on Lucia’s beautiful patio. Lucia is a gem - warm, welcoming, and eager to share her passion and knowledge of Mexican cuisine. A must-do experience when in Mexico City!
