Travel through time from the Castles of the 13th century to he 20th century creation of Portmerion Village. We will travel through the majestic mountains of Snowdonia while your guide will provide the traveler with a sense of place, a connection with the past and present, an understanding of Wales, and a unique insight into the Welsh, the Welsh language, and Welsh culture. A land of beauty, myths and legends, druids, warriors and wars, singers, poets, and, of course, castles.
On this trail, you will be accompanied by a local Welsh-speaking qualified guide who will explain the meanings of what would otherwise be only words, expose the traveler to Welsh, the ancient language of the Britons, and help you understand on this journey that the Welsh nation is still here. 3.00I've been wanting visit this site for years and finally did so in September on a lovely sunny day. We arrived around 3pm and stayed a couple of hours, the village is interesting and the views amazing but I have to say I was disappointed for a couple of reasons. First the village looked shabby, the buildings could do with a lick of paint and some for structures are in need of repair. Secondly, the cafes and eateries were unappealing, I only wanted an ice cream and was told I was too late, so made do with an average coffee. walked to the beach and admired the views but after an hour or so I was ready to leave. The gift shop was also rather dull. All in all a rather underwhelming experience.

5.00What a beautiful place to visit. I have walking problems and use crutches so I was a little anxious at first as it is all on a hill with lots of cobbles but I had no real issues, there are plenty of seating options placed around the village and most hade great views too. We were lucky enough to be there on a sunny day and that combined with the location made for a real sun trap… it not only looked Mediterranean but felt it too.
