  We had a super friendly, amazing and knowledgeable tour guide in Federico. He had a well planned trip for us. Took us to a stunning locale (Fjord) to witness the spectacular show that the sky put up for us! He took amazing pictures & also provided tips on camera settings to capture the spectacle. He alap explained the solar activity in detail, so that we understand how one can accurately predict the possibility of an aurora forming. The lovely bonfire he set up accompanied with the hot chocolate, cookies, the warm tomato soup was soul nourishing and just what we needed for the action packed night. Thank you Federico for making our Northern Lights Tour Special & an unforgettable experience!

• Magical Northern Lights

  Justyna took us all the way to Finland to see the lights - we were there for about 2 hours before we had to head back & we saw a spectacular display over a frozen lake. Excellent spot with no light pollution. We’re not great photographers but this would have been a fantastic opportunity to get the tripod out and catch the Milky Way as well.

• Incredible experience with the Northern Lights

  We booked this private tour as a family and were picked up by Argentine photographer Federico (Fede) as a tour guide. We started south from Tromsø to find the right place for the Northern Lights in the starry night. On the 2.5-hour drive to the final destination in Dividalen, we received a lot of interesting information about the formation of the Northern Lights. We didn’t have to wait long before we were lucky enough to see the fantastic Northern Lights live: an absolutely unique experience! Fede explained how to adjust the cameras and take incredible photos with them. At -13°C we sat around the cozy fire lit by Fede while he served us a delicious tomato soup and warm drinks. On the way back to Tromsø we even stopped for more Northern Lights. It was absolutely fantastic and we can highly recommend booking this tour!!! A day later, we even received the photos Fede had taken with his professional camera.

  My goodness! This experience/tour company/our guide Fede was absolutely top notch. I can’t recommend them highly enough. The communication was clear and prompt. Fede was on time, communicative and super friendly. He clearly outlined the plan for the evening. We got to our spot and he showed us all of the data they used to predict the northern lights and man were we at the right spot at the right time. Fede built a fire - gave us delicious soup and hot chocolate with cookies. We had everything we needed. When the lights began, Fede had a professional camera/tripod and took the most stunning pictures (and emailed them to me the next day). Unfortunately my husband slipped on the ice and cut himself pretty bad, but Fede had a great first aid kit. When we were ready to leave, Fede drove us to the emergency room so hubby could get stitched up (all good he’s a trooper). We said our goodbyes and planned on taking an uber home, but FEDE STAYED TO DRIVE US HOME!! Unbelievable hospitality and care. Book this excursion - you will be so happy you did. 10 STARS

  This was definitely a life changing experience!! We saw a fantastic show of the northern lights in a 360 degree long lasting show of colors and dancing! We were blessed that Michael put us in the right place at the right time! The candor and knowledge Michael provided were icing on the cake!

  Our private tour with Northern Soul Adventures? 10/10, would chase to Finland again! Michal, our guide and Arctic guru, somehow found clear skies and aurora magic—even if it meant driving us all the way to another country! 😆 Michal didn’t just point and shoot; he shared his aurora wisdom, taught us the tricks of photographing the lights, and took stellar photos of us so we could just enjoy the show. Add a bonfire and some hot soup, and suddenly Arctic temperatures felt a whole lot friendlier. For an epic, cozy night with the Northern Lights, look no further than Northern Soul Adventures. Michal, thanks for making us feel like aurora experts (and for the best photos ever)! 🌌

  This trip was terrible. The guide couldn’t drive and I’m surprised that we didn’t crash. The guide even told wrong information about Norway.

  Daniel, our guide, came to pick us up at the hotel right on time at 5.30pm: we got on the minibus and enjoyed the journey towards a fjord far from the lights of the center of Tromso. He drove for more than an hour to take us to the darkest point to admire the spectacular, starry sky that heralded the vision of the explosion of the auroras. Once we arrived and got off the minibus he helped us put on the equipment provided by Northern Soul Adventures with excellent thermal suits for the cold temperatures: he worked to make us feel protected, warm with hot drinks, sweets, an extraordinary and unusual dinner prepared with hygiene (Daniel even wore plastic gloves despite the cold) currently near the fire. With the available reindeer skins we were able to lie down and admire a clear, starry sky vibrant with spectacular auroras. Thank you Daniel for your thoughtfulness and perfect organization. TO BE ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED!!!

  We booked a private tour with Northern Soul Adventures at the last minute in early January 2024, in the hope of catching the Northern Lights in Tromsø. From the outset, our experience was flawless: Within minutes of making the reservation (which we made via Viator), we received a confirmation email from the owner and operator, Jeff - reassuring us that the booking was confirmed, setting out the start time, and seeking to establish what size of thermal suit was required for each member of our party, where we wanted to be collected and dropped off, and whether any of us required a camera tripod for the trip. On the morning of the day of the trip, we then received a further email from Jeff, reconfirming the start time and collection location (outside our hotel). When the start time arrived, Jeff was already waiting outside for us, with his vehicle nearby (warmed and ready for us to depart). His welcome was warm, patient and friendly. He was happy to advise us in what to wear and to bring, and happy to wait while we dashed back to our room to bring some extra layers of clothing. Once in the vehicle (a very comfortable 4x4 VW Caravelle van), Jeff was full of information, and very well prepared. He had carefully researched the weather forecast (via several different providers) and the most recent aurora activity predictions, with a clear and reasoned plan as to where to head and why - which he explained to us all, so that we knew what to expect. We then drove out to the surrounding islands in search of clear skies and a chance to see the lights - with Jeff all the time keeping us updated of possible changes of destination (depending upon the reliability of the forecasts and feedback from other guides in other areas). At our first stop, Jeff set us up on a beautiful beach where (with the comfort of thermal suits and foot and hand warmers provided by him) we caught a first glimpse of the Aurora - with the added benefit of a warming camp fire and some delicious lentil casserole which he had prepared at home. Jeff could not have been more helpful or accommodating - even lending us the benefit of his expertise in establishing the correct settings for our cameras. We then moved on (at Jeff’s suggestion) to a second location - where the skies were clear and the lights were fantastic. Here, we observed the lights for some time, with hot tea and coffee, and chocolate chip cookies to fuel us as we watched. We were back at our hotel by about 0030 hours (having departed at 1730), and had enjoyed one of the best holiday events that we have know as a family. That would not have been possible without Jeff’s patience, knowledge and willingness to help. He was an absolute delight with whom to spend the evening, and we would recommend him to anyone. He speaks flawless English, Danish, German and Norwegian, and his wife (Hannah - who is English) also offers local guiding.
