This Northern Lights hunt is your best opportunity to properly chase the precious aurora borealis and observe them. Because the trip is based on the weather forecasts and conditions, you will drive in the most promising directions, away from the light pollution of big towns and villages.
Your professional aurora hunter will also teach you about arctic nature, local lifestyle and northern lights to offer you a complete Lapland experience. The hunt is meant to be both educational and adventurous!
Pictures will be taken by your guide with their professional camera. It is a very useful tool to anticipate the apparition of auroras, find them and capture them!

Treat yourself and your loved ones with the best aurora hunting experience you can imagine. This private Northern Lights tour is organised by an aurora expert guide who will do everything possible to find the auroras for you. The tour lasts up to 6 hours, which allows to drive very far (up to 300km around Rovaniemi) to find clear sky and observe the auroras. Driving far might be the only way to find northern lights, especially when the weather is challenging in Rovaniemi. By staying out for a longer time, you also get the opportunity to see more in the sky and will not miss any Northern lights if they appear late in the night! The tour is private, allowing for an intimate experience adapted to your needs and requests. A specific start time will be suggested, based on our analysis of the weather and conditions (a brief report will be send to you in the morning to inform you about our analysis of the conditions). During the experience, you may always decide together with your guide if you would like to change locations to experience something else or stay longer at the specific place because you enjoy it. Basically, this is YOUR experience.

5.00For a first trip to the far north we trusted Nordic Odyssey and had an extraordinary experience. We had chosen a week stay in Ylläs with a private guide in chalet Suvanto. A programme of activities was included in the package. As many of us had come to Finnish Lapland especially for the Northern Lights, our guide Chris gave us a very comprehensive presentation of the phenomenon with many illustrations. While waiting for the most favourable conditions, he gave us the benefit of his knowledge of Finland’s history, culture and showed us beautiful places and original activities. The local partners Nordic Odyssey works with are passionate people who care about the welfare of their animals, respect nature and are proud to talk to us about their work. Our patience was finally rewarded and we attended a polar aurora festival at the foot of the cottage. Chris with his communicative enthusiasm made the evening exceptional and captured the most beautiful moments. Throughout the stay he will have been available, listening, always in a good mood, funny, adapting the program so that we can make the most of our week. We discovered the benefits of the private sauna at the chalet, enjoyed and meditated on the beauties of nature that were available to us, enjoyed the calm and silence in magical settings. Many thanks also to the staff, Andrea and Zuzanna for their availability, their softness and their enlightened advice. We had a very rewarding journey that exceeded our expectations, supervised by beautiful people. We strongly recommend Nordic Odyssey to anyone who wants to discover Lapland in a warm atmosphere.

5.00An amazing evening with Chris, from start to finish. The Northern Lights were beautiful and the wait turned into a real moment of pleasure thanks to his humor and good humor. The fire in the tepee, the snacks and marshmallows it had brought created a warm and simple atmosphere, exactly what we hoped for. Chris is a passionate, funny guide, and in addition he speaks French, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. We laughed a lot and left with memories full of memories. PS: special mention for Loic, whom Chris called to “see the dawns” when there was obviously no one... We still don’t know if he really exists, but he was clearly part of the evening and our crazy laughs.

5.00We came on holiday to rovaniemi, village of Santa Claus. For our holidays we chose Nordic Odyssey , family agency with full support, really interesting and spectacular proposals. We took 3 excursions: hunting the Northern Lights, hiking the Korouoma waterfalls and dogs - Rennes Premium version. We were completely seduced by everything we discovered , the guides were really great Mathis Quentin and Loïc who welcomed us and accompanied us , provided their advice and competence. If you want to avoid catching tourists and you find yourself in authentic and family places this is where you should go!! Thanks again to Nordic for all that made We wish them a good season and recommend them with their eyes closed Kevin & Teddy

5.00We loved it! The aurora, Hervé: it's his job! A technician of the Northern Lights, who knows how to put himself at your level to explain how it goes in the sky. A great time by the fire, a nice little meal and beautiful photos sent free and in high quality. We were with family, no difficulty:) And for those who do not speak English: it is even better because all their guides are Francophone! You can book with your eyes closed, Nordic Odyssey takes care of everything and you just have to enjoy!!!

5.00Beautiful outing, hiking in the forest at night well equipped against the cold and with headlamp, with Hervé the super guide who explained us the fauna and flora. We were hunting the Northern Lights, Hervé was tenacious. The night was covered so no dawn but a magical outing. Thank you Hervé! And campfire with marshmallow, I recommend Nordic Odyssey, their guides are super serious and really looking to please us. In addition the groups are small so it’s really great! Thank you!

Despite the elements that were not too much in our favor Lorie set up all her knowledge to allow us to see the aurora and the mission was accomplished Beyond hunting Lorie passed on her knowledge and we learned a lot about aurora as well as Finland etc. A super rewarding experience
