Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Antigua to the base of the Pacaya Volcano. Upon arrival, you'll meet your local guide and begin the 1.5-hour hike through lush forest trails and volcanic landscapes. Along the way, you’ll enjoy incredible views of nearby volcanoes and the opportunity to walk on cooled lava fields from past eruptions. At the top, you’ll experience breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and volcanoes. After a short break, you’ll descend back to the starting point. On some departures, you’ll also have the chance to roast marshmallows over geothermal vents or visit the famous Pizza Pacaya oven (check availability in advance). This experience is ideal for adventurous travelers looking for a unique volcanic hike, with morning departures recommended during the rainy season for better weather conditions.
