We learned so much about Porto's history, culture and local politics from our excellent tour guide Renato! He is not only very knowledgeable about Porto, but also Portugal's history. We had great conversation on broad topics, and we truly had a very educational and enjoyable tour. Renato is very kind! After our tour, we asked him how to get to a place where we want to go, instead of pointing us the direction, he walked us to there. If you want to have an educational and fun tour, you will be very happy with Renato!

My friend and I toured with Renato and we had the BEST time. Renato is a guide with the perfect combination of knowledge and personality! We enjoyed all the places he took us (and the food we sampled) and all the history of the sites we saw. I would book with this tour again!!

If you enjoy historical context with entertaining stories, Renato is your guide. We saw highlights of Porto, and learned about Portugal’s history through his passion, flair and humor. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed this tour and most highly recommend.

Renato was really friendly and knowledgeable. We learned so much about Porto and Portugal. Each place we went, he had relevant, interesting information to share and kept us engaged. He checked with us about what our interests were and made sure we wanted to visit one of the places he had planned, because there were a lot of stairs. The view was worth it! The three hours went by fast and afterward, he sent us a great list of recommendations for places to go.

I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. As a certified historian, Renato is not only extremely knowledgeable about the history of Porto and Portugal (and a lot of other things), but he is a tremendous communicator and very personable. When he got to the gastronomical portion of the tour, his enthusiasm for the food of Portugal was contagious. As a bonus, following the tour, he sent us a comprehensive list of other things to do and places to eat in Porto. A private tour with Renato is absolutely worth every penny.

Renato was wonderful & we saw so much in a short time thanks to his knowledge. He was very accommodating, tailoring our tour for level of walking & hill climbing we desired (coming off a long travel day) as well as how much history we wanted. His knowledge of the city & of Port (styles, age & vintners) was much appreciated. I’d highly recommend this service for anyone looking to maximize their time in Porto

Soooo much history, and architecture, and information, and the absolute best views! Renato tailored the tour to our intrests and kept answering every question, even the silly ones.
