Meet a warm and welcoming host family in a cozy and traditional Portuguese home. Paulo, Susana and their two children will be expecting you with some classic Portuguese appetizers and a glass of wine. Expect a very local and authentic culinary experience in a family atmosphere, with Paulo and Susana sharing lots about Lisbon's history, culture and food scene.

After a welcome appetizer and drink, join Paulo and Susan in their kitchen to learn to prepare four traditional Portuguese dishes. Paulo will explain the origin of a few delicious Portuguese wines that are made near their home. During your hands-on cooking class you will learn to make two traditional Portuguese dishes from scratch in. Learn the techniques involved in cooking Portuguese cuisine during your cooking lesson which will last about two hours. Later join your hosts at the dining table to enjoy the meal you helped prepare.

This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Take a short ride from the city center of Lisbon to get to Paulo and Susana's house in Apelacao, a quiet and open neighborhood in the outskirts of Lisbon for your Portuguese cooking class. Paulo, Susana and their two children will be expecting you with some classic Portuguese appetizers and a glass of local Portuguese wine. Expect a very local and authentic culinary experience in a family atmosphere with Paulo and Susana sharing lots about Lisbon's history, culture and food scene. After a welcome appetizer and drink, you will join Paulo and Susan in their kitchen for your Lisbon cooking class and learn to prepare two traditional Portuguese dishes. Unless you have a particular preference, your hosts will choose to surprise you with their own selection of favorite local dishes - two appetizers and mains. Your meal will conclude with Portuguese dessert.

Paulo and Susana were incredibly welcoming and gracious inviting us into their home and sharing a wonderful Portuguese meal with us. It was a lot of fun helping to prepare the dishes and even more fun sitting down to enjoy them. We couldn’t recommend this experience more and it was a true highlight of our trip.

This was perfect. There's always a small degree of risk with things like this because our family and the host family might not click. That said, I was pretty confident because of previous reviews. It turned out perfect for our Sunday lunch. The home is about 25 minutes from the tourist centre of Lisbon, which makes it feel like you are in the countryside but still quick to get to. The family totally got it in terms of making it work for our two kids (11 and 7). They were a delightful family (husband, wife and adult son) and we all had a great time. It was cool to cook and eat as we went. Couldn't recommend more highly.

This experience was absolutely incredible! Paulo and Susana made us feel right at home. They guided us through making delicious appetizers and main courses that we have already recreated at home. This was definitely a highlight of our trip. Thank you Paulo and Susana for your hospitality!

We joined Paulo & Susana for an incredible private cooking class with our family (ages 1 - 60) on a recent trip to Portugal. What a fun time with family and our new friends - Paulo & Susana - as we learned to create multiple Portuguese dishes. We especially fell in love with the delicious Sausage Pate. We plan to make it at home for years to come. We cannot recommend this experience enough! FIVE STARS!

My friends and I traveled to Portugal in March of 2024. By far the highlight of our trip was cooking with Paulo, Susana and Joao! Their home was beyond welcoming as were our hosts. We cooked with them, learned many recipes, and ate the most delicious meal with our friendly teachers. By the time we left (several hours later) we felt as if we were part of their family! Do not miss this opportunity!!!

Paulo and Susannah (and their lovely son) welcomed us into their home and made a memorable evening for us. They are wonderful hosts, chefs, teachers, and now friends. We enjoyed every second and felt at home, abroad. Highly recommend this service and these folks. Don’t forget to ask for rice pudding.

My wife and I arrived at Cristina's apartment and from the very first moment, we felt like we were good friends. Cristina immediately made us feel welcome, shared stories about her family and was interested in hearing about ours. She has a very genuine quality and a passion for people, it showed. Cristina had planned out an awesome menu of chestnuts, kale soup, baked bacalao, and a baked ricotta dessert, along with wine and cordials. Her instructions were easy to follow and the meal was excellent. As we ate and talked, time flew by so quickly that we never realized we were there for four hours. We are now friends on Facebook and intend to stay in touch. It is remarkable how such a short amount of time can have a long lasting positive impact. I highly recommend it.
