If you’re looking for an engaging and informative tour that covers the complex history of Riga but also explores what it is like to live here today, then this is the tour for you. We will not miss any of old Riga’s most famous landmarks on our walk including St Peter’s Church, Town Hall Square and Dome Square, but don’t expect a dry history lesson. On this tour, you’ll find out about the surprising origins of the Latvian language, the fate of churches during the Soviet occupation and the little known history of Latvia’s symbol of independence.
This is both a personal and a comprehensive tour of the old town. I love telling people about my city and, having travelled a lot myself, I know how enriching an authentic local perspective can be.

5.00Our tour guide was great, punctual, friendly and enthusiastic throughout the two hour tour asking your. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Riga/Latvia, the architecture all over the city and how it’s changed over time and restorations. We felt we’d had an informed lesson from our guide, an excellent start to discovering Riga, not just a load of wise cracks and highly recommend this tour.

5.00Our tour guide, Eduardas, was simply fantastic! He pitched the tour perfectly for our students (aged 12-14) and was engaging and very informative. 5.00It was excellent. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, funny, interesting and articulate. We learnt so much about historical, political, social & cultual aspects of Riga. Enjoyed by everyone in our group of 10. He was patient and engaging when we asked more questions between stops. He was brilliant.
