Located within the Tenorio Volcano National Park, the Río Celeste or light blue river is not only a beautiful place, but it also offers a unique experience you will not have in any other part of the world.
Our private tour will take you to this amazing national park where you can hike part or all of its trail, our guide will explain all about ecosystems and nature interaction at the park and you will witness where the water turns on that bright blue color.
After the hike we will have lunch and then a hike at another reserve to spot sloths and more wildlife.

5.00Marco is an excellent guide and made our excursion a delight. This was a private tour and our group was picked up at our resort in a Mercedes sprinter van—clean and fully stocked with water and beer (we didn’t drink the beer but we definitely used the water). He drove us the two hour trip out to the park (with a breakfast stop at a tasty bakery), pointing out the sights along the way and giving us a lot of great commentary about Costa Rica. Once we got to the park, Marco led the hike with patience for some of the slower members of the group. He used his laser pointer to highlight wildlife and trees along the way, being careful not to harm any animals with it. But it was helpful to see what he spotted because the iguanas in particular were very good at their camouflage. For those wondering if the hike is hard, our group included people with various knee issues due to living for five or six decades. But even so, the hike was manageable for us. Hiking poles do make it easier and Marco had extras for the group. The highlight of the excursion was the waterfall! I definitely recommend bringing water shoes to the falls, but you will walk down in your hiking boots or shoes. Once there, you will descend down a suspension bridge to the falls. Our group definitely has a fear of heights but we made it just fine. The falls are spectacular! Clear, colorful and very cold. There is a guard who watches over your belongings while you are in the falls. Marco brought quick-dry towels for us, too, which was helpful. Then there was a second suspension bridge to climb on the way out. (We had our own extra towels in the van to continue drying.) Lunch was about an hour down the road in Liberia, a tasty meal in an outdoor courtyard. It was in a beautiful 300-year-old building with painted ceilings. Pro-tip: Wear your swimsuit under your hiking clothes. There is a small bathroom near the waterfall to change, but it’s really a trick for women to pull on a swimsuit while you are sweating. You can also bring an extra bag of things to store in the van, if needed. You don’t have to carry everything in your backpack for this trip.

5.00Marco is the best guide ever! So knowledgeable, so smart, so kind, so funny! We had him for private tour with our family of 5. The driver was Manny, he was great too. Highest endorsement. You will live hanging out with Marco. We booked another tour for a river/crocodile adventure the next day and that was awesome too.

5.00We LOVED this tour, and the separate river tour. The cultural experiences were also great parts of the tour (chocolate, coffee, sugar cane -- farm, process, etc). While I'm certain this Co has a lot of excellent guides -- I can say for sure MARCO is amazing. We felt like became part of the family -- fortunately, he would've been the smartest one in the family -- his environmental knowledge and his cultural knowledge were excellent, and his personality and vive make him a pleasure to be around and to learn from. He also told us the company takes great care of the employees, they bring in experts in the environment and history to educate the guides, and the employees really love working for the company. This matters a lot to me -- I like to spend my money with companies that really take care of their people, and clearly, this company does.

5.00Incredible tour. Carlos went above and beyond. We saw sloths, a baby sloth, an ant eater, vipers, and more…. Absolutely stunning trip. Lots of info, lots of relaxing. The coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane were delicious as well! And couldn’t beat having a private tour and a nice car to be in between legs of the tour.

5.00Our family had an wonderful time on the Rio Celeste Rainforest and Sloth tour. The tour started at the Hotel Riu Palace and was organized by Nexus tours. The staff at Nexus was amazing. They were so helpful and knowledgeable about everything related to this experience. The passion that Steven (our guide) had for the animals, the rainforest and Costa Rica in general was excellent. He went the extra mile to make sure we found sloths, toucans and even a poison dart frog.

5.00⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an unforgettable experience with No Limit Adventures, and it's all thanks to our amazing tour guide, Carlos. From the moment he picked us up in a new, comfortable Toyota van for our private tour, Carlos made sure our family of five felt right at home. He had an incredible eye for wildlife, stopping along the way to show us a Halloween crab and howler monkeys. His kindness and educational conversation made the two-hour ride each way enjoyable and informative. Our first stop was the breathtaking Llanos de Cortez Waterfall. The short hike was easy and the waterfall was stunning, with high water levels creating additional cascading falls. Although swimming is typically possible here, we couldn't swim that day due to the water levels. Nonetheless, the scenery more than made up for it. Next, we visited Fincaventura Bijagua for a Wildlife Hike and Farm Tour. We saw an array of animals in their natural habitats, including red-eyed tree frogs, bats, toucans, three-toed sloths, and three types of monkeys. The farm tour was equally impressive—we learned about the cultivation and processing of cacao, coffee, pineapple, and sugar cane. The highlight was tasting fresh chocolate, coffee, lemonade, and the most delicious fresh pineapple. Lunch at the farm's restaurant was a traditional Costa Rican feast with spectacular views. The guides were exceptionally knowledgeable and the facilities were first-class. Carlos, who initially convinced us to take this trip when he drove us from LIR airport to Las Catalinas, was instrumental in making our tour exceptional. No Limit Adventures is highly reputable and comes highly recommended for anyone visiting Costa Rica. This tour was an unforgettable adventure, offering a perfect blend of wildlife, culture, and comfort. Thank you, Carlos and No Limit Adventures, for an incredible experience! My family and children will never forget the memories we’ve made during our day with your company in Costa Rica. Pura Vida!
