Wuzhen Water Town
In the morning, your friendly private driver picks you up from your hotel in Shanghai, and head up to Wuzhen, a 1,300 years old water town located in northern Zhejiang province. Upon arrival, stroll along the old town and learn about the Wuzhen’s history from your guide. Enjoy a local lunch and then take a relaxing boat ride along the canals in the afternoon. You can take some nice photos in this charm-laden town. Browse around the narrow, cobbled pathways and cross stone-arched bridges.
Xitang Ancient Town
In the late afternoon, transfer to Xitang, an over 2,000 years delightful water village. It's a window into traditional life around the River Yangtze, and the sunset here is amazing! Xitang’s importance as a window into traditional life around the River Yangtze. As you wander, see some of the sites used as locations in the 2006 movie, Mission Impossible III, starring Tom Cruise. Lastly, you can choose to have a romantic dinner (at your own cost) right by the riverside and overlook the entire ancient town when lights on at night. Or you can take a walk to see the local shops and bars to experience the night life here. When your tour is finished, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Shanghai. 5.00I had a great day visiting Wuzhen and Xitang. From the beginning planning things out with Alana the tour operator it was all great. Mr Huang picked me up on time and the drive was comfortable and he always made sure I had water at hand. Even without him speaking English communication was great. He would point out things on his translator as well as me using mine. Alana as well helped me all day throughout the self guided tour. Wuzhen and Xitang are quite beautiful. Both with similarities but big differences as well. This tour is totally worth it since it shows you both. Whenever I had a doubt, issue or question Alana made sure to guide me and help me out right away. Even finding recommendations from a tour guide for me to check things out in Xitang. In the afternoon it was pouring rain and thunder when we headed towards Xitang. For a moment I thought I wasn’t gonna be able to see it but Alana and Mr Huang patiently let me wait in the car for a while til the rain went down. Im very grateful to both Alana and Mr Huang. I got to experience everything in the itinerary and saw Xitang at sunset which was quite beautiful! Its my first time doing a self guided tour like this. Im looking forward to doing more like this with this tour operator in my next visit to Shanghai! Hope to have Alana and Mr. Huang helping once again. Thank you very much! :)
