Step into the splendor of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture and one of the most visited landmarks in the UAE. We’ll begin with a scenic drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, followed by a guided walk through the mosque’s most breathtaking features: gleaming white marble courtyards, towering minarets, glittering chandeliers, and the world’s largest hand-knotted carpet. Along the way, you'll learn how its design reflects Islamic beliefs through symmetry, symbolism, and space. After taking in the mosque’s rich detail, we’ll make our way to Wahat Al Karama, a striking memorial plaza directly facing the mosque. Designed for quiet reflection, it’s also home to one of the most breathtaking views in the UAE. Together, we’ll explore what each detail means, from prayer rituals to palm-inspired columns, and how these awe-inspiring spaces invite reflection, reverence, and deeper understanding.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center

We’ll visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, an absolute marvel in all its dazzling white marble. Believed to be the 8th largest mosque in the world, this place of worship has an open doors policy inviting citizens of the world to see its magnificence up close. Here, we’ll learn about facets of the Islamic faith and the stunning detail in its construction which took 11 years to build and involved contributions from across the world. We’ll learn about the ‘wudu’ washing rituals and witness the prayer halls where Muslims gather to pray ‘salat al-jama‘ah’. We’ll also get to capture the mosque’s magnificence at sunset when the 22 light towers project bluish clouds onto the white marble.

Continue to Wahat Al Karama, the national memorial directly facing the mosque. From the reflective water feature and angled memorial panels, you’ll capture panoramic views of the mosque’s domes and minarets, one of Abu Dhabi’s most striking vantage points.

What a delightful afternoon wandering with Nada. We toured during a layover on my way from Dubai to Maldives. She is knowledgeable, down to earth, sharing what we have in common and what makes her country unique. You can ask her anything! She also recommended a lovely dinner on Saadiyat Beach. Great resource for a woman traveling alone.

Absolutely use Nada from your entire time in the UAE! She was raised in the UAE so she really understands the history of the area and easily answers any questions you have about culture, history, politics, etc. She even goes above and beyond by offering her assistance with anything you encounter during your visit to the UAE - COVID requirement questions, recommendations for restaurants and food, etc. We had such a pleasure getting to know her throughout our time with her. She's easy going yet organized and prepared, the perfect qualities in a guide! She had all of our ticket and logistics prearranged and everything ran perfectly smoothly. We did two tours with Nada and they were both fantastic. We started off with the Old Dubai walking tour. Besides us, there were only two other individuals on the tour. It was a great way to see the souqs. Nada is incredibly informative and fun! She had endless surprises in her bag, like maps and scent samples to bring her stories to life. We especially liked that she took us to a reputable spice souq with high quality spices so we didn't have to worry about quality/getting scammed and she even gave us some haggling tips. The tour ended in an authentic heritage restaurant. We really enjoyed this experience and enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about and experience Emirati culture. For our second tour with Nada, we did the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Tour in Abu Dhabi. It ended up being a private tour since no one else signed up! She picked us up from our hotel and then guided us through all of the logistics to enter Abu Dhabi and the mosque. She knew the mosque very well and took us to several areas that none of the other visitors were at! She was even our personal photographer and got some amazing photos! Nada is incredibly informative and personable. She is willing to answer any question and give nonstop tips. Definitely book a tour or multiple with her!
