Sacred Valley of the Incas
Start your adventure with a hotel pickup between 8:00 and 8:30 AM. Your first stop is Chinchero, a charming Andean town known for its impressive Inca walls and a historic colonial church. Here, you’ll experience a live demonstration of traditional Andean textile weaving, where local artisans will reveal their ancestral techniques. Next, head to Moray, a fascinating Inca site featuring circular agricultural terraces once used for crop experimentation at different altitudes. From there, continue to the picturesque salt mines of Maras, where over 3,000 salt pools cascade down the hillside, creating a stunning visual spectacle. In the late afternoon, travel to Ollantaytambo to board a scenic train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Spend the evening resting and preparing for the following day’s highlight.
Chinchero
Our first visit will be to the main square, filled with its well-preserved Inka walls and altars. Our next visit will be to the Textile Center for the introduction and learning experience of the art of Andean textiles. Local weavers will guide you through a step-by-step process of the ancient science of Andean weaving as it has been done time before the Inkas.
Moray
Our next stop is Moray and its panoramic terraces of concentric rings, which has been proven to be a test center for understanding the various climates and temperatures of different crops or agricultural plants, perhaps even used for the domestication of different vegetables.
Maras
we will descend lower in elevation to the salt mines of Maras, a vital production center dating back to pre-Inca times. Here there are over 3,000 salt pools carved into the mountainside, filled daily by water seeping from the Earth, what we call the tears of Mother Earth!

The day begins early with breakfast before boarding one of the morning buses to Machu Picchu (2,430 meters or 7,972 feet). Upon entering the Inca citadel, your guide will lead you on an in-depth tour, sharing the captivating history of this iconic site and explaining its most remarkable features, such as temples, ceremonial areas, terraces, and storage structures. If you’ve secured an additional ticket in advance, you’ll also have the opportunity to explore either Huayna Picchu (2,720 meters or 8,924 feet) or Machu Picchu Mountain (3,082 meters or 10,111 feet) for a breathtaking perspective of the surroundings. After the guided tour, the group will return to Aguas Calientes for a brief rest and lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll board a train back to Ollantaytambo, where a private van will be waiting to take you to Cusco.

5.00First of all the tour operator was great at communication. They coordinated the whole private tour well in advance and kept us informed of the itinerary and pick up time. Throughout the trip, we kept in touch via WhatsApp so never felt alone or lost. Jonathan, our tour guide and the transportation were punctual. Jonathan is very professional and his English is impeccable so we could understand all the information he was sharing with us unlike some other guides we had before which were different to understand. Jonathan was very knowledgeable about the history of the region. The minibus used for transporting 3 of us was modern , spacious and comfortable. Overall, we had a great experience and highly recommend the tour.

5.00If we could give 10 stars, we absolutely would for Guido our tour guide. He was not only accommodating when we needed to change one of our tours, but he also provided an incredibly enriching experience by sharing his extensive knowledge of the area’s history. Throughout our time with him, we felt like we made a new friend and learned so much. Guido went above and beyond, and his passion for his job was truly inspiring. We traveled a long way, hoping for the best experience, and Guido delivered beyond our expectations. When we return to Peru, we will definitely ask for him again.

5.00This was my first time in Peru and i can definitely attribute my great experience to Inkayni tours. I am beyond satisfied with our very punctual and knowledgeable guide Jonathon, and I was very touched by his affinity for nature and spirituality. Every destination felt special and unique and i don’t think it would have been the same with any other guide. His pace was very good as well, not too fast and not too slow. My family and I were very pleased with the amount of places we were able to visit, without feeling rushed whatsoever. I highly recommend tours with Inkayni and i hope that anyone who books a tour has the pleasure of being educated and guided by Jonathon.

He is very competent, speaks fluent English and knows a lot about the history and background of Machu Picchu. We can recommend him without restriction! He gets a 10/10 on our own scale!

5.00My wife and I had the most wonderful time visiting Peru in September ‘22. Thanks to Lisseth of Inkayni Peru Tours who planned out our whole trip in less than 10 days. The plans were well executed with the various individuals and teams that provided professional and excellent service in their respective fields, be it a guide, a chauffeur or hotel staff. Lisseth was more than accommodating to any last minute requests we made and was very friendly and patient. Our tour guide Freddy Torres was excellent and very knowledgeable on the subject of Inca history and lifestyles. He is the perfect guide to have on a tour, be it Machu Picchu or the Rainbow Mountain. We were determined to trek up Rainbow Mountain (elev. 17,060 ft) and Freddy motivated and encouraged us all the way to the peak, like a true guide. The climb was the most exhilarating mentally albeit the most exhausting physically. Freddy’s experience and patience was on full display in his efforts to get us ‘over the hill’. It was truly our best adventure thus far and we hope we have more in future. Thanks Freddy, Lisseth, and the rest of the team at Inkayni Tours; you guys went above and beyond to make our trip a very memorable one. We will cherish these memories. We highly recommend Inkayni Tours.
