Saona Island
Climb aboard one of our private boats as the turquoise Caribbean Sea glitters around you. What happens next is up to you. Do you want to see a shipwreck? Snorkel among the colorful tropical fish or head straight to the beach to sip piña coladas among the palm trees? Our tour guide will check in with you every step of the way to make sure you are getting the experience you want. Smell the salt air. Hear the ocean waves. Feel the warm sun and cool wind on your skin. Let the island consume your senses as you drink Dominican rum. Pass through marvelous mangroves, a natural habitat for sea turtles. Arrive at the first piscina (natural pool) and refresh yourself in the stunning still blue waters. You will be among starfish, but please, it is forbidden to touch/disturb them. When you decide, we can make our way to the next destination.
Relax or wander on the Catuano Beach of Saona Island after a delicious buffet lunch. Lounge in a hammock, stroll the beach, sip pina coladas or other beverages, pose for some photos, dip in the ocean, meditate by the sea, conversate with your group, whatever you wish. You and your group decide how much time we spend at each area of the tour.

5.00Our favorite day of the whole trip! Vanessa and our boat captains were wonderful. Very private and customizable as advertised. She brought us to incredible spots and avoided the crowds. From the snorkeling, to the starfish and turtles, to the oceanside lunch to the swimming and beaching, we and our kids loved it.

5.00The excursion to Isla Saona from La Romana was undoubtedly one of the absolute highlights of our cruise and is highly recommended for every cruiser! We were only 5 people (maximum of 10). So absolutely private.:-) Already the organization went smoothly: Directly at the port we were welcomed friendly and punctual and everything was well coordinated. The trip to the island by speedboat – was already an experience in itself, with fantastic views of the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. First we went to the snorkel stops at a shipwreck and to an old jetty. Seeing the different fish was great! A special highlight was the stop at the natural pools in the sea, where we stood in the knee-deep, crystal clear water and could even watch starfish – an unforgettable moment! Later we could see sea turtles. The Isla Saona itself is simply paradise: Beautiful sandy beaches, shady palm trees and a sea in the most beautiful shades of blue. On site Vanessa told us interesting things about history and life on the island. Afterwards there was a delicious, typical Dominican buffet and refreshing drinks. The order and length of the stops were always agreed with us, so we had enough time to enjoy the island relaxed, bathe or just relax. We would particularly like to highlight the friendly and dedicated team, who have created a great atmosphere with good mood, music, drinks, snacks and a lot of warmth. Conclusion: A perfectly organized excursion with a real Caribbean feel, ideal for cruisers departing from La Romana. If you want to spend a day in paradise, you should definitely not miss this experience!

5.00This was a great experience to get out and experience the ocean, explore some nature ares, and experience Saona Island. We had plenty of snorkeling time, a great meal, knowledgeable hostess, and plenty of sandbar and cocktail time!

5.00We had an amazing day with Vanessa and team exploring remote beaches, snorkeling, eating great food, relaxing and seeing some of the best parts of the Dominican Republic. This was so worth it and really made our vacation. We loved that it was private with just our family.

5.00We had an absolutely amazing day on the water and exploring with Ingrid and the Captain (can’t recall his name). Ingrid is a true gem and really made our trip that much better, she was so good with our 3 year old. They made sure the day was tailored to our needs and not the needs of their own or a huge group. Going private is the way to go! Vanessa was great communicating with us as well. Book! You won’t regret it.

Several stops off the island of Saona for swimming or snorkeling, delicious drinks, delicious lunch and non-tourist beaches, with Sonja a super guide and a great boat crew, what more could you want! Absolute recommendation 100%

5.00Me and my partner booked the private boat trip as a very special treat to celebrate my milestone birthday. What an incredible, memorable way to celebrate - something I will remember forever! Dana was excellent with communication via WhatsApp, the whole trip was organised perfectly. I mentioned it was my birthday and was greeted with a sing song which was so sweet! 🥰 - Also to note, a little birthday cake and sing song later in the day on the beach too! Our tour guide, Ingrid, is amazing. What a beautiful person, so friendly, perfect English, we felt so comfortable with her and she really made our day memorable. We could take as long or little as we liked wherever we were, nothing was rushed or on schedules. To sum up what we did: snorkelling, see turtles and starfish, visit the national park and Saona island, had a lovely buffet lunch, visit the turtle sanctuary and walked around on the island, and plenty of swimming in the sea 🌊. Oh, and kept the rum and coke flowing! 🤣 We would highly recommend doing this trip to everyone, really it is one of the best experiences ever. Thank you so much! 😊

5.00From start to finish a super organized tour. You can notice the joy with which all employees perform their jobs and work hand in hand. Our boat had with Sonja a super qualified guide and a great person, also the captain and his staff were very competent and laid up for any fun. In short, 100% recommendation, the best excursion of our entire cruise !!!!
