Saona Island
Climb aboard one of our private boats as the turquoise Caribbean Sea glitters around you. What happens next is up to you. Do you want to see a shipwreck? Snorkel among the colorful tropical fish or head straight to the beach to sip piña coladas among the palm trees? Our tour guide will check in with you every step of the way to make sure you are getting the experience you want. Smell the salt air. Hear the ocean waves. Feel the warm sun and cool wind on your skin. Let the island consume your senses as you drink Dominican rum. Pass through marvelous mangroves, a natural habitat for sea turtles. Arrive at the first piscina (natural pool) and refresh yourself in the stunning still blue waters. You will be among starfish, but please, it is forbidden to touch/disturb them. When you decide, we can make our way to the next destination.
Relax or wander on the Catuano Beach of Saona Island after a delicious buffet lunch. Lounge in a hammock, stroll the beach, sip pina coladas or other beverages, pose for some photos, dip in the ocean, meditate by the sea, conversate with your group, whatever you wish. You and your group decide how much time we spend at each area of the tour.

5.00We had an absolutely amazing day on the water and exploring with Ingrid and the Captain (can’t recall his name). Ingrid is a true gem and really made our trip that much better, she was so good with our 3 year old. They made sure the day was tailored to our needs and not the needs of their own or a huge group. Going private is the way to go! Vanessa was great communicating with us as well. Book! You won’t regret it.

5.00We were totally thrilled with this tour. This trip is worth every penny. Several stops off the island of Saona for swimming or snorkeling, delicious drinks, delicious lunch and non-tourist beaches, with Sonja a super guide and a great boat crew, what more could you want! Absolute recommendation 100%

5.00Me and my partner booked the private boat trip as a very special treat to celebrate my milestone birthday. What an incredible, memorable way to celebrate - something I will remember forever! Dana was excellent with communication via WhatsApp, the whole trip was organised perfectly. I mentioned it was my birthday and was greeted with a sing song which was so sweet! 🥰 - Also to note, a little birthday cake and sing song later in the day on the beach too! Our tour guide, Ingrid, is amazing. What a beautiful person, so friendly, perfect English, we felt so comfortable with her and she really made our day memorable. We could take as long or little as we liked wherever we were, nothing was rushed or on schedules. To sum up what we did: snorkelling, see turtles and starfish, visit the national park and Saona island, had a lovely buffet lunch, visit the turtle sanctuary and walked around on the island, and plenty of swimming in the sea 🌊. Oh, and kept the rum and coke flowing! 🤣 We would highly recommend doing this trip to everyone, really it is one of the best experiences ever. Thank you so much! 😊

5.00From start to finish a super organized tour. You can notice the joy with which all employees perform their jobs and work hand in hand. Our boat had with Sonja a super qualified guide and a great person, also the captain and his staff were very competent and laid up for any fun. In short, 100% recommendation, the best excursion of our entire cruise !!!!

5.00We made two private trips (German speaking) with insider trips. Once snorkeling with Saona and the National Park in Los Haities. Perfect communication and organization from the very beginning. Punctual , friendly and totally empathetic. We had mega fun on both trips. The rum was empty and we take home great memories. Thank you Dana for organizing, thank you Vanesse for the tour to Saona and thank you Sonja for yesterday's trip to Los Haties. We wish you continued success in your work and we can warmly recommend you 100%. Maybe it wasn’t the last time👍

5.00I searched and search and saona island is by far the one place you want to visit if you come to the DR. The one issue was finding the right tour where you got personalized service without the price. In comes Dana and Ingrid from insidersTrip. We booked and Dana kept in contact via WhatsApp and was very efficient. What do you expect, she is German, and I mean efficient and on time. Never have I ever visited a Caribbean country and got picked up on time… never ever. The driver was on time, the tour guide Ingrid was waiting for us. Dana showed up and explained the tour and off we went. Ingrid’s is Dutch and her English is perfect. We basically told her how long we wanted to stay at each location. She bypassed some when there was other boats crowding the area and then we came back when they were gone. This was a highly efficient and well run tour. The price of the photography could be a little cheaper but that’s an independent contractor and not from the tour company per se. Everything was on point. Thanks Dana and thanks to Ingrid , this was the best tour in DR

5.00The Saona tour with insider trips was the best day of my life. Where should I start? And I don't really want to stop either. The turquoise sparkling water, the incredible biodiversity in the ocean at the snorkel spots and the nature along the way completely blew my mind. On the way we also made a short stop on land – there we had fresh coconut and pina colada straight from the fruit, a real Caribbean feeling. Or how does that sound to you? Pool high, standing in the paradise sea and living starfish around you, music coming from your boat, even your captain is dancing. Drinks are provided throughout. What else is missing to be absolutely happy? In my opinion, nothing! The island of Saona itself is simply incomparable: colourful huts, warm people, vibrant culture and an atmosphere that cannot be put into words. The small, private group made everything even more personal – and the crew was authentic, attentive and just great. A special thank you goes to Vanessa, who with her warm nature, knowledge and passion made this tour a magical experience. Absolute heart recommendation!

5.00An unforgettable day on a Caribbean dream island. Pina Colada from a pineapple sip, snorkel or chill on the white sandy beach was all possible. The captain and the staff of Insidertrips spread good vibes throughout the day. Also, attention is paid to the fluid balance! 😉🤣 Always with insider trips
