Our first destination is around two hours drive away, along the west coast and under Hvalfjördur Bay. You can get a preview of the tour's wild and wooly Berserkjahraun lava field from a high vantage point. The beautiful and gloomy Berserkjahraun was built approximately 4000 years ago by thick black lava from neighboring volcano craters. The lava is mentioned in one Icelandic saga as how the Norwegian Berserks are ultimately vanquished.

Kirkjufell Mountain

As we reach the fishing village of Grundarfjörur, the solitary and beautiful summit of Mt. Kirkjufell becomes increasingly difficult to ignore (Church Mountain). The name makes sense when you consider that it towers over the city on a ridge of verdant hills. The mountain overshadowed the Snaefellsjökull glacier in fame thanks to its appearance in the popular Netflix series Game of Thrones.

The weather prevented us from seeing some of the sites, so our tour guide did her best to rearrange things to maximize the experience. It would have enhanced the experience to learn more about the area on the car rides and hikes.

It’s easily the best day of our Iceland trip. Our guide Sam made every effort and more to overcome difficulties along the journey and it really felt more like having a travelling companion along the way instead of a cold tour guide who’s just doing a job. Easily five stars.

This coast is very different from the southern coast, but equally as beautiful. Our tour guide made sure we saw everything that the coast had to offer including the volcano that was filmed in Game of Thrones. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and interactive. It’s a long day that shouldn’t be missed.

Thank you Vishnu for everything! Can’t recommend this tour enough. Guys don’t think twice and book this! We felt we were in Narnia, the sites were breathtaking and to top it off the car was super comfy and happy to have met and made friends with Vishnu!! We are definitely coming back

We did both the South Coast tour and the Snaefellsnes Peninsula Tour with Tourism Iceland.Both Dheeraj and Speedy were knowledgeable and friendly guides who adapted the tours when they knew your particular interests.The cars were clean and comfortable. All of the stops were interesting with plenty of time there. When booking the tour length appears particularly long but with so much to get through the time flies.We can’t recommend this company enough -thank you for 2 great days!!

We were lucky with the weather. The tour was organized to our needs. The best thing about it is the flexibility. For a week we were cuddled and taking care of. It is the right spot inbetween a bus tour and a car rental tour. I highly recommand using their services. Always on time, always nice, competitive pricing. Truth them.
