On this private tour for you or your group you will learn to snowshoe in Pyhätunturi area. Access the untouched snow to experience the beautiful arctic wilderness and enjoy complimentary hot beverages and a meal made from local ingredients by a cozy campfire. The tour is guided by a local guide. You will get to access the snowy wilderness with snowshoes and walk in a wintery landscape around the Pyhätunturi area. During the tour we will be looking for animal tracks in the snow and you get to enjoy the tranquil wilderness Lapland has to offer. We will use modern lightweight snowshoes which have adjustable bindings that fit to most winter or hiking boots so you will be able to wear your own winter footwear. Earlier experience with snowshoes is not needed on this tour as your guide will teach you the correct technique for snowshoeing. The activity is organised in Pyhätunturi area which has amazing terrain for various outdoor winter activities.

We went on a daytime snowshoe tour since the weather conditions unfortunately didn’t allow us to see the Northern Lights. Mikko is an outstanding guide: he told us everything about the forest and the animals of Pyhä-Luosto National Park, showing great professionalism, kindness, and expertise. Highly recommended! During the tour, he prepared a delicious meal with local sausages, salmon soup, and a wonderful hot blueberry juice, all made by his family. A unique and unforgettable experience to have in Pyhä!
