  A Truly Memorable Day in the Algarve We booked a custom tour with South Explorers from Albufeira to Lagos, and it was outstanding from start to finish. Communication with Antonio was excellent, friendly, personable, and seamless. He set us up with Filipe, who was absolutely wonderful. Our trip started with a hiccup when we accidentally got off the train early at Tunes. Filipe came to meet us without hesitation and even waited patiently while we finished our coffee. He came up with the best possible suggestion and plan for our time (much improved from what I asked about). His good nature set the tone for the whole day. He tailored the tour beautifully, sharing fascinating insights that kept both adults and kids engaged. Lunch at a local gem was unforgettable, and he even managed to arrange a private cave tour last minute so we could make the most of our time. There was even a small, thoughtful moment with eucalyptus that I’ll always remember. Filipe’s warmth and knowledge made it feel like exploring with a trusted friend.   Our private tour of the Coastal Algarve with Antonio, owner of South Explorers Portugal was truly unforgettable. From the moment he picked us up at our hotel, Antonio’s warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail stood out. In Sagres, we he showed us the historic Fortress perched high on the cliffs, followed by a visit to Cape St. Vincent—the awe-inspiring southwestern tip of Europe where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean. Our last stop was to Lagos, where we enjoyed a locally inspired lunch. Antonio made each moment feel personal and meaningful, sharing rich stories and local insights that brought every location to life. Traveling in a comfortable car with hotel pick-up and drop-off made everything effortless. We can’t recommend South Explorers enough for anyone wanting to experience the Algarve through the eyes of a passionate local expert.

  Our group of seven , all in our 60,s had a fantastic day touring with Antonio to the west coast of the Algarve. Antonio showed us places we would never have found on our own and provided a detailed, fun, informative day tailored to our pace and interests. He had answers to all of our Portugal questions and his answers showed the pride he felt in doing what he did for a living! Our group probably took about 300 pictures of some of the most amazing landscapes and beaches. A totally different vibe around each corner. Amazing Day! Highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a more natural and authentic view of the Algarve. Thank you Antonio! Looking forward to our drive with you to Tavira and Seville next week!😀

  We met Antonio in Lagos at 9am and it was the best day of my trip to Algarve. We started at the castle at Sagres, then to St Vincent, and onto many magnificent cliffs and beaches! Antonio was so knowledgeable and helpful! I would hire him again in a heartbeat! Too bad I didn’t have another day in the region.

  I had a very ambitious goal of scouting numerous locations across much of the the Algarve. Antonio got it gone. He is very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Highly recommended.

  You must book with Antonio Bule!! After researching different tours and groups, I was directed to Antonio from other reviews. We wanted to see the natural springs at Monchique, São Gonçalo de Lagos, and Portimão so Antonio gladly took us to each place and guided us through the experience. On top of being incredibly kind, patient and easy to talk to(we speak English only), he was a wealth of knowledge about the agriculture, history and culture. I must emphasize that Antonio was the reason we enjoyed our tour so much, he is truly a gem!

  In general very happy to visit all the villages of Algarve, very peacefull areas, we like to be in touch with nature and Algarve is beautiful also the view of the Ocean, very glad to have visited.

  We had a wonderful 2 days with António Bule last week. First day in the Alentejo area. Visited Quinta Do Quetzal winery (wine tasting with various cheeses), Chapel of Bones and Évora. Second day was the Algarve, Lagos and Sagres area to the end of the earth and back. Pictures can never do it justice as you have to see it. I want to thank António for his knowledge and love of his Algarve especially. I would highly recommend everyone contact him if you are looking for exceptional tours. Hopefully see you again.

  The day was perfectly planned for us to see nine different coastal cities so we can figure out where we want our home base. Antonio was very helpful, friendly, and we enjoyed getting to know him and his lovely family through sharing pictures and stories. We appreciated the personalized tour that he customized for us. His insights on the various towns and areas we invaluable. Loved the restaurant Recanto dos Mouros location, food and staff. Highly recommend South Explorers.

  Antonio picked us up at our hotel in Lagos and we spent a spectacular day touring several beautiful beaches and historic points along the west coast of the Algarve. He very much tailored this trip for my husband and I - more specifically, my husband, a retired photographer who took lots of time to take beautiful photos. We never felt rushed, but got to see so many stunning places. He also brought us to Retirodo Pescador in Sagres - a great restaurant for lunch. When we go back, we will definitely try and schedule a couple of tours with Antonio!
