Medina of Tunis
this sprawling labyrinth of ancient streets and alleys is one of the most impressive medieval medinas in North Africa and one of Tunisia's great treasures. It's home to numerous covered souks selling everything from shoes to shisha, as well as bustling cafes, alleyways full of artisans at work, and residential areas punctuated by large, brightly painted doorways. Historic palaces, hammams, mosques and madrassas (schools for the study of the Koran) are scattered throughout, many are richly decorated with tiles, carved stucco and marble columns.

5.00This was such a wonderful way to end my trip. As this was my first visit to Tunisia, I decided to book this tour so that my sister and I would be able to see and experience more of Tunis and Carthage during our very short stay. Our tour guide, Fahmi and our driver, Said were both so kind and welcoming. Fahmi was extremely knowledgeable about the local history and provided lots of helpful information which enhanced our visit to the various historic sites....he is also very personable and funny which made the tour fun. We felt very safe and well cared for and would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting a personalized sightseeing experience..
