This is a classic itinerary option to explore the fabulous Borromeo islands but please get in touch with me should you wish a customized tour tailored to your needs and time. I can design a special tour if you prefer to spend a longer time on the islands or wish to combine the visit to one or more islands to a sightseeing boat tour for a stress-free trip! Get in touch before booking also if you have walking problems, so that I can suggest the best option to visit. Enjoy a tour of the Borromean islands to discover the real beauty of lake Maggiore. 5.00Micaela gives you the keys to understand the history and the setting of this beautiful spot of Italy. She pointed out the significant sights and realisations, gave then historical contexts and thus enriched our experience. Also, with Micaela's vast knowledge and experience we were able to focus on less trampled spots which made our visit some much more enjoyable. 5.00This was our third visit to Stresa, we love it so much. On each occasion Micaela has been our guide and Alessandro our lake taxi service. It wouldn't be the same without them, we now consider them top friends. As well as great company Micaela's knowledge of the area is extensive and delivered in perfect English with humour. Isola Bella a must along with Isola Dei Pescatori for lunch all organised by Micaela made for a perfect day (again!). If you have time Isola Madre and Villa Toranto well worth a visit - particularly if you like your gardens. Micaela is particularly knowledgeable about flora and fauna!

5.00Excellent in-depth tour of 3 islands and a wonderful recommendation for lunch on the 2nd island. From details to the art and the gardens Micaela was a wonderful guide. I have a bad knee so a bit slowed but never felt rushed. We took the private boat option which is a huge time saver and allowed for much more time on the islands as well.

5.00We visited Lake Maggiore in late September 2023. We booked the private guided tour of the 3 Borromee Islands with Micaela. She picked us up by private boat from the dock in front of the Grand Borromes Hotel. My husband has advanced degrees in classics and archaeology and Micaela truly knows her history extremely well. We were also able to get in and out of the islands privately without crowds. Micaela speaks perfect English and communicated very well via email prior to our booking and while we were there. On the 2nd day, her husband Davide drove us over the mountain to Villa Pizzini for a spectacular lunch after which Micaela took us on a guided tour of Lake Orta. We had a great tour of the island in the middle of Lake Orta. On our last day, Davide took us in his Mercedes Van to Lake Como for the next leg of our journey. We would definitely recommend booking Micaela and Davide for all your private tours and transportation needs in this area. We can’t wait to come back and book with them again!
