With skip the line entrance tickets and your expert guide, begin in 138 AD when the Castel was originally built as a funeral monument for Emperor Hadrian. Here you can still explore the mausoleum dedicated to him. Explore the Treasury room deep inside the castle, where it is said his ashes were originally placed before the 5th century sacking of Rome.
As you make your way through the castle, visit the frescoed Papal apartments. Hear about the lives of the pope's and cardinals who resided here - such as the Borgia, and others who hid away when crisis struck.
Stand in a torture chambre in the courtyard where numerous executions were held, and see the famous Passeto Secreto - the 'secret passageway' that connects the castle directly with the Vatican which inspired Dan Brown's book Angels and Demons.
Finally, enjoy stunning views of the city from the top of the monument where Archangel Michael stands armed with a sword, guarding the city.

5.00Massimo was delightful, knowledgeable and professional and gave us a great private tour of the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel and of St Peter’s Cathedral. He was able to take time to explain what we were seeing and pointing out things we might otherwise miss. He was able to maneuver us past crowds. He is very experienced and well known to other tour guides and security personnel which helped us get the most of the time we had. Thank you Max and Liv Tours for a wonderful experience.

5.00Awesome Evening Golf Cart Tour w/ Drinks with LukaG !! We were with 2 other couples and had some good laughs! We toured Rome with some fun stops along the way . Despite being on Rome streets in a Golf cart, Luca drove with great patience and ease. We will do again for sure!!!!

5.00Mikaela was exceptional. Her love for and knowledge of Castel Sant’Angelo was on full display. Easy to meet up with, we began with a full history outside and appreciation for what we were to encounter over the next couple of hours. Curious about what we had done already, she expanded on our experience in Rome to date tieing in facts and information that made our tour of the Castel much more impactful. As a local, she had recommendations for other venues, sights, and eateries that might sate our palettes. Always smiling, allowed for plenty of questions and time for photos. We left the tour with our own smiles and a head full of facts that will enhance the memories of our trip. Definitely recommended.
