Your full day 12 hour tour from Inverness to the Isle of Skye offers a journey through the Highlands and the best bits of the Isle of Skye, along with quite a few locations that you wont see on other tours!
As a local to the Highlands guide will break up the journey on the way to Skye with a number of stops that are important and special in the hearts of the people who live here.
We can also pick up from the Isle of Skye, or even pick up in Inverness and drop off in Skye and vice versa (Just let us know luggage requirements)
You will enjoy historical commentary, folklore, Scottish music, local snacks, and general good craic all round!
On Skye we are excited to show you the magical spots on the Island, but if the weather makes visibility poor, we can substitute stops to make sure you have the BEST experience. As this is a private tour we can adapt the itinerary to suit your groups preferences! Just ask away-it's your day!
We will also make a bonus stop at the Hairy Coos!

Urquhart Castle
Our first stop on the way to Skye will be Urquhart Castle. The ruins sit perched on the banks of Loch Ness. Our guide will tell you about the history of the castle, and the folklore and legends about the loch and our most famous beast, Nessie as we look down from a viewpoint above.
Glenmoriston
The Glenmoriston Footprints are a lessor known, but important site, when it comes to Highland history and legend! Finlay Munro preached from a spot in Glenmoriston in 1827 and left two footprints. No blades of grass have on the spot since!

5.00Our private tour from Inverness to the Isle of Skye with Fin was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we began the journey, Fin’s warmth, expertise, and genuine passion for the Highlands made the entire experience exceptional. She brought the history, legends, and landscapes to life with stories that were both captivating and deeply rooted in local culture. Fin curated the perfect itinerary for us, adapting the day to match our interests and the conditions. The highlight was visiting the dramatic and breathtaking Quiraing—one of the most stunning landscapes we’ve ever seen. Thanks to her deep local knowledge, we explored at the perfect pace and enjoyed viewpoints and photo stops (which included coos) that felt far from the usual crowds. Her attention to detail, friendly personality, and easygoing nature made the day feel relaxed and personalized. She offered great recommendations, answered every question with enthusiasm, and made sure we never felt rushed. 5.00We had an unforgettable day touring the Isle of Skye with Tartan Trailblazers. Our guide, Finella, was fantastic: knowledgeable, engaging, and full of personality. Highlights included hikes to the Old Man of Storr and Loch Coruisk, meeting Highland “hairy coos,” and visiting Sligachan Bridge. Finella’s local stories, music and tasty treats made it particularly special. Michelle’s planning was flawless. Highly recommend and can’t wait for another tour with this amazing team!

5.00Excellent day with Fin, our local guide. We were there as “Storm Amy” blew in with 100 mph winds on the isle of Skye, Fin rearranged our itinerary to keep us just ahead of the storm and let us experience as much of the isle as possible, we saw lots and had a very enjoyable day under less than ideal conditions. Highly recommend any group that could pull this together for us.

5.00Wonderful way to see the Isle of Skye - our local guide, Fin, was very knowledgeable about the area, and was pleasant and fun to be with. We traveled as Storm Amy was coming in with 100 mph winds and rain, but Fin arranged our tour and schedule in such a way as to avoid any problems and be able to see absolutely as much as possible! Our small group of four made for a great day - we highly recommend.

5.00We booked this private tour at the last minute. But the tour guide Finella contacted us quickly, and it only took us a few minutes to finalise the departure time, place and itinerary. What we booked is a one-day trip from inverness to Skye Island and back，which is a long way to drive. Fortunately, the weather was very good on the day of the trip. We went from the castle on the shores of Loch ness to various scenic spots on Sky Island, and the weather was good all the way. Finella took us to the An-corran beach full of dinosaur footprints, which is not easy for the bus tour group to reach, and the Quiraing viewing point overlooking half of Skye Island, and the magical "Apostolic Footprints" on the last way back, which are all memorable and wonderful journeys that must be tried in your life！ Although the journey is mainly to enjoy the natural scenery, Finella, as a local, highlander , is very proficient in humanities, history, geography and even the development of religion, language and population in the highland areas, which makes the whole journey even more special. Finally, she also gave a lot of suggestions for our dinner arrangements and the next day's itinerary. If you have limited time, I think private tour is the only way to enjoy the essence of skye Island in the shortest time. I will definitely recommend this to you.
