The Hill of Crosses in Lithuania is a spectacular and unique site like no other! It is a site of pilgrimage dating back to 1830ties when people started to place crosses here to pray for their loved ones they've lost in the battles (Lithuanian - Polish commonwealth uprising against Russian Empire).

In Soviet times this place served as a peaceful protest action against Soviet regime as they tried to destroy the place many times while locals kept coming back and placing more crosses all the time.

The Hill of Crosses was visited by Pope John Paul II back in 1993 and since then this place has become very popular - not only between locals but also tourists from all over the world!

You're welcome to be a part of this unique growing site by leaving a cross on the hill. You can purchase the cross on the site, bring it with you from your home country or even make one yourself!

This is perfect if you'd like to visit the Hill of Crosses (in Lithuania) from Riga with no fuss and planning! We'll pick you up from any central address in Riga. The trip to the Hill of Crosses takes about 1h 50minutes (each way). There the driver will give you free time to enjoy the place by yourselves until you're ready to go back to Riga. This is not a guided trip, rather than a transportation with English speaking driver. A safe, quick and easy way to get to the desired destination and back to your hotel! The pick up time can be arranged depending on your needs. The total duration of the trip depends on how much time you'll need at the Hill. Count ~3h 40m driving time (back and forth, all together) + as much time you'll need at the Hill of Crosses.

This was a fabulous trip. Krista was the greatest. She was knowledgeable about the entire area we drove through from Riga to the Hill: the legends, the history and. the present. She went above and beyond what could be expected on such a tour. She even stopped for specific requests and geocaches which she was also already knowledgeable about and more than willing to help hunt! Because of this trip we've gotten another country visited!! Thank you Krista. A job well done, too bad you're not at every stop.

Amazing experience. Our guide, Rich, was spectacular and super helpful. In addition to visiting the hills, he also showed us some other historical points along the way and recommended a local restaurant. Super professional.

The tour guide made this trip incredibly worth the money, not only was he friendly and helpful in locating us and an incredible driver, but he was incredibly knowledgeable about Riga, Lithuania and the Hill of Crosses. He made each landmark feel more alive and had interesting stories the entire time, there was hardly any time on the trip we weren't engaged in an interesting story or conversation. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Riga, not only will you learn more about the city itself, but you'll see and learn so much more than travelling alone!

If you're looking for a site that's off the beaten path, this is it. Our guide, Krista, was fantastic! She was knowledgeable, super friendly, and so accommodating. I recommend doing this tour if at all possible.

Great opportunity! This experience is a great way to visit another country while visiting Riga. Krista is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable!! She’ll cater the experience to you. The hill of crosses is one of the most unique places in Europe, and can be breathtaking. Highly recommend!

An efficient way to see the Hill of Crosses without any of the hassle! An eerie but beautiful place to visit. Would definitely recommend. My driver Janis picked me up exactly on time and was very knowledgeable about the Hill as well as the various areas we were driving through! (I was a solo female traveller but felt extremely comfortable on this trip).

We had a great experience. Communication with Krista prior to the tour was excellent. Armand was a very personable guide. He was able to access the cruise port area and pick us up right outside our ship. We would recommend this tour!
