Being greeted by the English speaking driver-guide at the lobby of your accommodation in Zurich City, you will head to discover the Cultural Capital of Switzerland - Basel later to the charming town of Colmar in France.
Basel boasts a wealth of cultural, historical, leisure, and enjoyable experiences.
Upon arrival, you will stroll to the town hall, the Congress Hall, Tinguely Fountain, Cathedral Hill, and the winding streets of the well-preserved old town. Afterwards, you may relax on the Rhine River while having a boat trip.
Also, Basel is famous for its fine chocolates and sweets; thus, after tasting some samples, we can proceed to Colmar in France. This small city is showcasing the lifestyle of the whole Alsace region. You will be amazed by half-timbered houses dating back to the 16th century, namely Adolf and Pfister houses and “Little Venice” on the list of must-see while visiting Colmar. After an exciting day, private return to the initial meeting point in Zurich.

Colmar
A stroll at the old town of Colmar to admire the half-timbered buildings, tiny alleys, all is a pedestrian center and everything is so colorful. - Visit “Petite Venise” (the little Venise) - here the half-timbered buildings along the canal. - Adolf house, considered as one of the oldest in Colmar. - Pfister House - the design of this house dates back to the Middle Ages with facade paintings, and much more. You can also have a break in one of the finest Colmar cafes.

5.00✨ A journey that exceeded all expectations ✨ When I organized this group trip from Peru I knew it would be special... but I never imagined how much. A 5-day program in Private Service by the most emblematic places of Switzerland. From the first contact to the end, the attention was impeccable. As a tourism professional, I can say with absolute certainty that the Aratours SA Group is the TOP OF TOPS in Switzerland. I have no hesitation in recommending them, their quality exceeded all my expectations: first class organization, punctuality, knowledge, kindness, flexibility and with a warmth that falls in love, a team that really makes a difference. In the group came a pregnant mom and another person with a cast on his leg. It could have been a challenge; but, thanks to the attention and quality of the operator, they managed to make them both enjoy each activity as if there were no limitations, with total comfort and care. 5.00We actually had ride from Basel to Zurich airport but that wasn’t an option. Our driver Paul was great. There was an accident on the main highway and he took us through neighborhoods and back roads to get us to the airport on time. I left my phone on the ship and he immediately called the ship and handed me his phone. He also offered to send my phone back to me, but Viking handled that. He was great!

5.00Trip was perfect, Basel was a nice small town to know with delicious pretzels, but when we reached Colmar was just outstanding, You will love this beautiful French Village! Plus our guide Paul was great. 100% recommended.

5.00We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Basel, Switzerland and Colmar, France. Our tour guide, Paul, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The churches in both cities were amazing, and the unique architecture in each was colorful and impressive. We capped off our tour with a tasty French lunch at a cafe in Colmar and sampled authentic French Macaroons for dessert! Delicious!!

5.00I would love to go sometime. I studied this when I went to Purdue University for my Hospitality Tourism Management Degree with my tourism emphasis. It looked like a wonderful place to go! I would love traveling by train so you can see the landscape of the countryside! Spectacular! For those interested in this trip please enjoy it! Thank you Trip Advisor
