Emerson was truly extraordinary. After a string of travel mishaps, we arrived in Sintra exhausted, only to learn that many sites were closed due to forest fire concerns. Just when we thought our day was lost, we noticed Emerson’s tour menu. He never pressured us, simply answered our questions with patience and warmth. Within minutes, we felt his genuine spirit and decided to join his tour. It turned out to be the best decision of our entire trip. Emerson did not just guide us to the highlights. He revealed the heart of Sintra. His stories and insights transformed each stop into something unforgettable, weaving history and local knowledge into pure magic. What struck us most was how personal it felt, as if he were welcoming old friends into his world. His English was flawless, but even more impressive was the passion that made every detail come alive. PS: His knowledge and experience, both as a local and as someone who understands what visitors look for, made this experience unique. He even gave us dining recommendations that stretched the value of the tour well beyond his time with us, and shared tips for other stops we are about to make around Portugal. What a generous gift. Five stars.

Wemerson was an awesome guide. Despite the fact that some of the attractions were closed on our day he made an effort to ensure the tour was still so interesting that we didn't feel we missed out. He was so knowledgeable about Sintra and its historical context. Answered questions about anything you could have asked. His English was excellent and he was so polite and obliging. Amazing experience. Winding through the lush mountains and seeing the stunning architecture of the various palaces was exceptional and our guide Raphael was incredibly knowledgeable and offered great insight not only to the history, but local culture. Then the trip out to the coast, to “the end of the earth,” small villages and the spectacular Azenhos do Mar—it just kept getting better. I highly, highly recommend. You get an amazing sense of all of Sintra and its beautiful surroundings—you’d be hard pressed to do it on your own.

Rafael was fantastic and engaging! We’re from NY and toured Sintra on our second day in Portugal. We saw so much via the tuk tuk, would have taken 2 days to see everything on foot. Don’t hesitate to book!

We spend a perfect day in Sintra with a full day tour. Our guide Raphael was very knowledgeable, friendly, sunny and a very safe and skilled driver. He knew all the places, byways, hidden spots and locations and the best photo stops and provided us with background history and stories. The Tuktuk was the best vehicle for the narrow streets. We definitely recommend this experience!

Outlanders tours were amazing and very punctual. They made sure to take us to the high points and tourist destinations but also some of the local hidden gems narrating about its locations history and significance to Portugal. I strongly recommend them if you want a quality tour with great prices.

We had an incredible day exploring Sintra and the breathtaking beaches in Colares, thanks to our exceptional tour guide, Wemerson. The weather was absolutely perfect, and riding in the tuk-tuk was so much fun. Wemerson impressed us with his flawless English and extensive knowledge of the history behind the various palaces and attractions we visited. After our time in Sintra, we made a stop at the enchanting Praia das Azenhas do Mar and were captivated by its beauty. I highly recommend Outlanders Tours, especially if you have the opportunity to be guided by Wemerson. His vibrant personality added an extra touch of magic to our already memorable day!
