On our customised Private Tour you'll enjoy a fun and informative tour with an experienced local guide showcasing the iconic Mt Maunganui, gorgeous sandy beaches, affluent homes, then we gradually ascend the central volcanic plateau to Rotorua stopping at a Kiwi farm where you'll be amazed at how this locally economically important plant is grown.
In Rotorua we visit the iconic Whakarewarewa Maori village (incl. a slick 30 minute performance of maori song/dance by members of the local tribe, a walk through a mystical geothermally active wetland and some bubbling hot mudpools and hot springs, or a guided walk incl. viewing the Pohutu geyser).
Then we drive to the nearby holiday lakes of okareka and tikitapu/blue (and possibly Tarawera if time allows), Stunning photo opportunities abound here, plus we take a quick easy trek into a grove of NZ native forest...tranquil, serene and unique.
Redwoods forest and the dynamic rapids at Okere falls are two more options, again if time allows.

5.00This was an outstanding tour. We loved everything, the Kiwi farm, the Maori village, the amazing views of the lakes, the Whakarewarewa Forest. Our guide was knowledgeable, funny and had good suggestions for food and nature stops.

5.00We were able to see most all the highlights of Rotorua/Tauranga on a limited time schedule. The service and tour was great! We were picked up right outside the port which made it easy for us as cruise passengers.

5.00Our guide Steve was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, adjusted the day to our pace and gave us many options along the way. Saw some great nature from thermal springs to beautiful lakes to bush to giant redwood trees. Would highly recommend !

5.00Kerry was a great guide, personable, informative and met all of our needs. He said and made us feel that this was "our day". After a drive through lovely Tauranga, we headed inland to a kiwi farm where we met the owner. This was a very unique experience. We then drove to Rotorua where we stopped to see several sites before reaching the Maori Thermal Village. We enjoyed a 30-minute Maori show and the thermal springs and gobbled meat pies for lunch in the Village. For us, the highlight of the trip was seeing the Green and Blue Lakes in the afternoon and nearby redwood forest. All in all, it was a great day. We couldn't have asked for more.
