Kagurazaka
(Feel free to choose a few places from the list - in order of recommendation -. About 2–3 for a 4-hour tour, 3–4 for 6 hours, and 4–5 for 8 hours.) We will visit the historic area of Kagurazaka, which was developed by SHOGUN 400 years ago and remains one of Tokyo's six Geisha districts. Thanks to the nearby Institut Francais, the area has a unique atmosphere that blends good old Japan and France. The bustling shopping streets remain, providing a great opportunity to see the lives of ordinary Japanese people up close and enjoy shopping like one of the locals.
Meiji Jingu Shrine
Meiji Shrine is a shrine dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. When the Tokugawa Shogunate returned power back to the Emperor and the Meiji era began, Japan made great strides in catching up with other developed countries. The education system was established, railways became widespread, and Westernized dining attire became popular. Emperor Meiji, who encouraged these developments, was loved by the people, and after his death, Meiji Shrine was built as a place to commemorate him. Now, 100 years later, this place has become a magnificent forest that is hard to believe is in Tokyo, and its sacred atmosphere makes it a refreshing place.

Thanks Akiko! 🙏 You gave us fantastic days in Tokyo, showing us the best of the culture ⛩️, food 🍣🍜, and nature 🌸🗻. You were the perfect guide! Plus, your deep knowledge of Western culture from living in Switzerland really helped us bridge the cultural gap easily. Highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Modern city meets ancient traditions. A fantastic, fast-paced tour with incredible sights. Would’ve preferred longer stops at museums.

It was my first time visiting Tokyo; I felt anxious and wanted to explore the essential historic sites. Akiko made sure I felt at home and was kind enough to explain the history behind each site. She communicates well and provides examples so you can associate the history of a Japanese native. Overall, I had great food, explored all major parts, and wanted to return to Japan. I highly recommend using her tours!! You'll learn a lot and have fun doing it. The best investment you will make is to learn more about Tokyo :)

I visited the Meiji-Shrine and the Harajuku district with Akiko last september. She was very friendly, flexible and keen to talk about Japanese culture, society and customs in addition of the tourist information about the sites. The tour enabled me to see little details that I wouldn't have noticed on my own. Akiko also gave me very good advice on how to continue visiting the city. I'd definitely recommend it!

I truly enjoyed my customised tour with Akiko. She is very friendly and knowledgeable about the sights and also has a playful manner to make it great fun and memorable. Her English is excellent and it's very easy to understand her explanations. But what really delighted me is that we chatted about a lot of various topics and I could finally understand much better about Japanese people and culture. It was such a wonderful experience and it was hard to part at the end of the tour, like I had made a new friend.
