  This tour began with lots of misinformation and missing information. When we booked the tour, we knew our ship would be in Port about 8 AM and we expected to begin the tour at 10 AM. Due to difficulty clearing the ship we didn’t get to the meeting point until 10minutes past 11. Our driver at that time informed us that we couldn’t do the tour that we had paid for because it was a 2 Hour drive just to get to the tour site. The literature said that the tour was 5 to 6 hours so we felt that was sufficient time to get back to the boat in time well before last call. The guide also informed us that she expected us at 9 AM. There is nowhere in any of the numerous confirmations I received that spoke to a 9 AM departure. If there was, we would’ve been there.However, the guide informed us that in fact, the tour was longer than seven hours and therefore couldn’t be completed. Instead, she suggested we take a one hour ride out to a beach to look at some penguins, which we did. The tour description talked about a picnic, lunch, snacks, tea, coffee. In fact, after going out to the beach, we were told there were ham and cheese sandwiches and we asked about trying the local beer which was also part of the tour description. It was no offer of snacks nor anything else nor was there a picnic lunch. We then drove back to the port, asked the driver to stop at a wool shop which she did. And then we were told we had to return to port because the ship’s captain had asked all tours to return in order to depart earlier because of weather. In fact, we were already back at Port at that point anyway, so the tour was not really shortened by the captains decision. The tour guide well nice didn’t seem particularly knowledgeable and we had to ask many questions to get any kind of information regarding the Falklands. Our point in booking this tour was to see elephant seals. That didn’t happen and it was a very costly tour that covered very little. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement.

  We had a great tour with Shawn who answered many of our questions about the animals and the administration of the islands. While the drive is long, it’s interesting to see the countryside and Shawn is adept at driving all the ruts and backroads. Best part was being just us on Whsle point with the herd of elephant seals all around and then the penguin colony molting onshore nearby. We forgot the cold windy air and enjoyed spending time watching them. Unexpectedly we were treated to a nice homemade sandwich while being on the seaside. Good vehicle for 4 people on very bumpy ride!

  Fantastic day! Picked up from the port and our group of 4 had a private drive through the beautiful landscapes of East Falkland Island. Farrah gave us a great history lesson of the island on the way. Penguin colony was very interesting, as was the site near the beach where whales beached themselves many years ago, and their bones littered the ground. We then drove along the beach to see the elephant seals on the shore and along the dunes. We had a wonderful lunch after by the beach. Local beer was a plus and Roxy’s homemade desserts were the best! A city tour after on the way back to the port finished our day. Can’t thank you all enough!   A one of a kind experience to sea elephants and Pinguins in a remote area with no other tourists. You have to love of/shore diving of approx three hours. However, the driver and guide Sian was very experienced and knowledgeable.
