Wine trekking tour. If you like trekking in the hills, enjoying magnificent views of vineyards, forests and rivers, and want to taste an excellent organic wine in a historic winery, this is the perfect plan for you! You will also be delighted with a delicious Chilean country grill and excellent wine next to an open fire in an idyllic spot. Less than an hour's drive from Santiago de Chile you can enjoy one of the best preserved nature surroundings in the Metropolitan Region. The Hills of Naltahua are located in the Cordón de Cantillana, identified as a number one priority place for biodiversity preservation in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. We will take a four-hour walk through the most pristine and magical places of Naltahua. Places that you can only visit on a single excursion if they are shown to you by an expert local guide. You will uncover the richness of its flora and discover its surprising fauna such us the condor, the Chilean iguana, the red fox, the puma or the Valeria grumbler lizard. After enjoying the trek we will delight you with a country roast or "asado”. As the icing on the cake, we will visit a renown historic winery to do a tour and have a tasting

After the morning trekking and the country grill, let´s visit a renown historic winery and have a tasting.  Once inside the vineyard, while walking in between the grape vines, your guide will explain you the facts that make this winery so interesting. Its past, some Chilean traditio ns and the winery present state.   We will tell you about its development, how it evolves and the technology behind that finally make the wine so excellent. Natural cultivation of the grape vines, with minimal human intervention, results in healthy and mature grapes, a high quality raw material to make excelent wines. While walking inside the cellar, we will explain you the wine making process and we will have a final tasting of three magnificent wines.  Mapuche Museum You will also get the chance to approach the native pre-columbian culture visiting the Undurraga´s Mapuche Museum that recreates the cosmovision and way of life of the prehispanic inhabitants of this central area of Chile.

A nice mix of hiking, local colour and a wine tasting. The tour starts with a delicious simple breakfast (country eggs and local bread) at a local artist’s fascinating country house in the Maipo Valley. Then a medium rated hike at the Alto de Cantillana - about 5-6k with lots of ups and downs (it’s not a circular walk). Good boots are recommended, and sunscreen on a hot day. Then either a BBQ during the hike or a country restaurant at the end. We went for the latter - to sample local dishes and get some salad & veggies! Then to a Maipo Valley winery for a tour and a tasting. We went to the superb Undurraga winery - very much recommended! Our guides were Felipe and Pilar, who were both very knowledgeable about the area and the wines.

Unfortunately I was unable to attend due to stomach illness. The hosts were very understanding and did the right thing, providing a prompt refund and their sympathies. Amazing customer service!

Loved the hike and the undaragga winery was beautiful. Our guide was nice and the lunch was fun. He grilled on the mountainside.

Nice hike through arid habitat with beautiful views of the valley. Excellent grilled meat lunch along the trail. Guide was knowledgeable of local flora and geography. On time pickup at hotel. He was a safe driver and provided interesting insights into life in Chile. We even got to sample some local homemade wine. He was flexible and a nice guy to hangout with. The trip included one of the better winery tours we have been on. The winery guide gave interesting history and in-depth facts about the particular types of grapes grown there.

We had a wonderful day with our guide Filipe. Local knowledge, home cooked meals, local wines and a personal touch and genuine interest in making our day an incredible experience. The views on our hiking were spectacular, the locals we met warm and friendly, wines all excellent and the local Vineyard Guided Tour with wine tastings a great way to complete a unique experience!

Tour started with a very pleasant hike in the mountains to a small waterfall. This was followed by a BBQ at a farm yard followed by a very good wine tour. A excellent way to spend a day!
