  We stayed in Gardiner MT Sept 25. This was the start to our Yellowstone adventure. I booked a room at Yellowstone River Motel about a week in advance. Great stay. We only had enough time for one night there. We planned to be in Mammoth Hot Springs the next day. Gardiner is right at the North entrance. Makes it a perfect location to start at the park. We had time to have to dinner at Cowboy Lodge and Grill. Dinner was great and we also ended up having breakfast there as well. They had live music outside and the weather was absolutely perfect. Elk roam the streets and the town felt very welcoming. We can't wait to go back. Yellowstone River Motel has a great grassy lounge area where you can feel comfortable to have a nightcap or smoke. Breathtaking views!

  There are not enough superlatives to describe our private tour with Nolan from Yellowstone journeys. His family has been in Montana for six generations and it shows. He told us about the wildlife, the geology, and the history of Yellowstone Park and the surrounding areas. There was no question we asked that he that he couldn’t answer. He provided binoculars for each of us and two telescopes. On one he recorded the activity of the wildlife and gave it to us as a parting gift. The other he adjusted so that we could get close-up views of the grizzly bear, black bear cub up in a tree, bison, elk, and wolf pups. He provided snacks and a delicious lunch with fresh fruit. Nolan is definitely “the man”and is respected by his fellow guides. He even shared pictures of his two adorable daughters with us. We could not have been more thrilled with the day spent with him. Definitely recommend Yellowstone Journeys and Nolan.

  We did a lot of research on tour offerings in Gardiner, and I'm so glad we picked Nolan and Yellowstone Journeys. Nolan was awesome and it was great to see Yellowstone with a true local! The tour was a splurge for our family, but ensured we saw all the wildlife we wanted to see (and more) while on a once in a lifetime trip to Yellowstone! Within just a few hours, Nolan helped us view our first bison, grizzly bear, wolf, mountain goat, and pronghorn. We also saw 2 moose, which is pretty rare. As another reviewer commented, I was surprised at Nolan's ability to carry on conversation in the car with us while also keeping a keen eye out for wildlife. Nolan was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and has all the knowledge of a local whose family has lived in Montana for generations. He was also patient with our children, and checked in with us regularly about bathroom breaks, wildlife we wanted to see, etc. Tip: We scheduled our tour with Nolan at the beginning of our visit to Yellowstone, to help orient us to the local area and to get our wildlife sightings under our belt early. It paid off, and we would definitely recommend Nolan and Yellowstone Journeys to our family and friends. His spotting scopes great, and allowed us to observe incredible detail about the animals but from a safe distance. As a bonus, Nolan shared the videos and photos he recorded on his scopes during the sessions for us to have as keepsakes. Thanks to Nolan and Caitlin for a memorable family experience, and a hospitable introduction to Yellowstone!

  Nolan is an amazing tour guide with a deep knowledge and passion for Yellowstone Park. Thanks to his expertise, we were able to spot wolf pups frolicking with their mom, a grizzly bear feeding on a carcass, which then eventually yielded his meal to a pack of wolves, a black bear, and so many bison. Many of these sightings would not have happened without a professional tour guide who knows where to go, and when to go there. Additionally, Nolan knows everything there is to know about the park, from wildlife to the fascinating geological features. If you're looking to get the most out of your visit to Yellowstone, booking a tour with Yellowstone Journeys is a great way to go.

  Our family had a blast with Nolan. We saw grizzly bears (including a mom with 3 cubs), a black bear, elk, coyotes and lots of bison including a mom with a newborn calf. There was even a wolf sighting! Worth every penny! Would highly recommend.

  We had the best time on this tour! Nolan had so much insight on where to go to see wildlife as well as some really cool sights! It was our first time in Yellowstone, and it was definitely worth it to spend the first day doing a private tour. We even saw bears!! Highly recommend! 10 out of 10

  My husband and I had the pleasure of taking a private wildlife tour with Nolan of Yellowstone Journeys a few weeks ago. We were very fortunate during our tour and spotted a ton of wildlife. Throughout the day, we saw 4 moose, a grizzly mama and her 2 cubs, 2 black bears, a pack of wolves stalking a newborn bison calf, a badger, a pair of golden eagles, a coyote, pronghorn antelope, a Northern Pygmy Owl, and of course a ton of bison. Nolan knew just where to look for wildlife as well as what times of the day different species would be more active. Suffice it to say that we were very pleased with our wildlife sightings! Even more important than the wildlife viewings, however, was the easy conversation and wealth of knowledge about Yellowstone National Park and its inhabitants that Nolan delivered. Nolan has so much information to share with his guests, especially since he is a native of the immediate area. He had coffee, tea, hot chocolate, snacks, and lunch foods all ready for us. He was constantly checking in to see if we needed anything (and also was cognizant of making bathroom stops). The use of the scopes (all set up by Nolan) elevated our sightings greatly. I also loved that he was willing to personalize the tour to our interests. We wanted to get out of the car and do some light hiking, and Nolan took us to a fantastic off-the-beaten-path spot. If you are in the market for a Yellowstone wildlife tour, don’t hesitate to book with Yellowstone Journeys. It was by far the highlight of our trip!

  Nolan was born and raised in Yellowstone, and his knowledge of the history, animals, and issues surrounding the park were amazing. He put us on great animals and scenery all day, and his sense of humor was a welcome addition to a great experience. Simply the best!

  The tour we booked with Yellowstone Journeys was the highlight of our trip. Nolan was both extremely professional, knowledgeable and fun to tour with. We went with the kids and grandparents and everyone enjoyed it. We saw wolves, foxes, and all sorts of wildlife. We highly recommend this tour to others looking for a unique, fun and informational experience.

  What a great experience, we didnt have much time to explore our selfs so we decided to go with a tour guide , amazing experience, we seen all prime spots , had a great lunch , found out a lot of new information, amazing tour highly recommend
