Winter is the best time of year to view Yellowstone wolves. Our tour will focus on Yellowstone’s Lamar Valley, undoubtedly one of the best prime wildlife viewing spots in North America as it harbors impressive wolf packs, large herd os bison, elk, and moose.
In Dec through March Yellowstone wolves become highly viewable and often be seen challenging elk and Bison in Yellowstones famous Lamar Valley. In late Winter Yellowstone starts to comes to life as the temperature gets slightly warmer, the snow starts to melt, grizzly bears start to wake up from a long hibernation. March in Yellowstone is the best time of the season to view the parks population of grizzly bears fighting against wolves for dominance of food resources and attempt to take over the landscape.
This tour is led by a wildlife biologist that is a professional guide in Yellowstone National Park. Through out the day they will interpret the landscape and wildlife interactions. It will certainly be an unforgettable day!

Lamar Valley
The Lamar Valley of Yellowstone National Park is world renowned for the wildlife that congregates here. It is often refeered to "The Serengeti of Yellowstone." The Lamar Valley is currently the best place to spot wild wolves in the United States. This is the exact location where biologists from National Park Service released the first wolf pack to walk in Yellowstone since the early 1900's. Not only can we see wolves here but we will see large bison and elk herds grazing in this famous valley.
Mammoth Hot Springs
We will explore the board walks surrounding Mammoth Hot Springs. Mammoth Hot Springs is a very large thermal feature sitting over a large deposit of limestone. The super heated water from the volcano underneath Yellowstone is dissolving the limestone a redepositing it to the surface as travertine limestone causing turquoise pools and unusual terraces.

5.00We had Randolph as our guide and he was great! He was a wealth of knowledge and we had some great wildlife sightings. Weather was not the best and park opening was delayed due to icy roads, but he made the best of it and found us some wildlife sightings outside the park before we went in

5.00We had the most amazing guide, Travis, today for our private tour. He was so friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding area but especially the ecosystem in Yellowstone. We saw bighorn sheep,prong horns, coyote, elk, bison, and 5 bull moose which were incredible. A magical family trip for our first visit into Yellowstone.

5.00Randolph was an amazing guide - he Tailored the trip to us, prepared plenty of snacks, and was extremely knowledgeable. He had a detailed answer for every question and knows more about Yellowstone than anyone! Highly recommend we had a lovely time and saw plenty of Wolves, Bison, Rams, thermal features, and plenty of hidden gems.

5.00We cannot recommend this tour enough. Our day trip with Randolph was nothing short of amazing. Right from the start Randolph instilled us with knowledge about the parks eco system, history, animals and everything in between. His knowledge and passion for all things in the park is incredible. Throughout the day we saw elk, wolves, mountain goats, bison, eagles and mule deer. We had plenty of time to stop for photos and view the animals in their natural environment. Plenty of snacks along the way, plenty of laughs in the car, and lunch was delicious. We will remember our day forever.

5.00Randolph, our tour guide, shared his extensive knowledge of animal behavior, geology of the area, and history of the park and the animals. He was very willing to tailor the adventure to our needs and what we wanted to see. He is very kind, and he thoroughly answered our questions with enthusiasm. The expedition took us through abundant passages to see wildlife and took us to the best sites to see the animals. We had an absolute blast!

5.00We hit the road for Yellowstone before sunrise and were instantly rewarded with two massive herds of elk followed by the most unreal moment of all… a mama grizzly and her cubs playing and digging as the sun came up 😭 Absolutely insane. We truly didn’t think we’d see any grizzlies, so that moment alone made our day. From there it just kept getting better with herd after herd of bison (one of which I was pretty sure was about to climb into the car 🤣), a bull elk in full rut, three bald eagles perched together, bighorn sheep, pronghorns and even a brave little coyote prancing through a field right next to a pack of wolves! We got to watch the legendary Junction Butte pack which was a mix of stunning gray and black wolves feeding on a bull elk they’d taken down the night before. Watching them for hours in the wild just to have it suddenly start snowing while we were on the top of the mountain was absolutely mesmerizing. Every turn brought another jaw-dropping sight and we wrapped up the day exploring the otherworldly Mammoth Hot Springs. Huge thanks to Andrea for being the most knowledgeable, passionate guide and taking a day of his off-season to give us a day we’ll never forget. His excitement was contagious and made every moment even more special. We felt safe at all times both while he was driving and when we were out watching animals. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

5.00James did a great job telling us about the terrain and history of Yellowstone. He knew seeing the animals was a priority for us and he did not disappoint, we saw almost everything on our list and James even took some photos for us. We could have never found or seen these animals on our own - I highly recommend this Yellowstone Safari ❤️👍🏼

5.00Andrea was fantastic. He went above and beyond making sure we saw the very best Yellowstone has to offer. We managed to witness the varieties of wildlife along with the jaw-dropping scenery. No question went unanswered, and we truly got to witness more than we would have journeying on our own behalf. 11 out of 10 recommend Andrea as a guide, and will surely be returning in the near future!

5.00Our family watched the wolf packs with Andrea on March 1, 2025 in Yellowstone. We had such a wonderful day and although we’ve lived in Bozeman since 2012 we have never seen Yellowstone or the wolves like this before! I highly recommend this tour to anyone that loves nature and animals. Andrea does such a fabulous job and he’s so kind and fun! Our three teenagers had the best day exploring and wolf watching with Andrea. We also really enjoyed the short hikes and the lunch was delicious!!

5.00Andrea was an incredible guide!!!! Very knowledgeable, super friendly and organized!!! He made sure we had the best experience and did everything to make sure our day at Yellowstone was incredible. Saw wolves, moose, elk, fox, coyotes, bison, deer and more! The hikes were easy and so beautiful!!! Thank you Andrea for a great day! I hope to come back and do a summer tour!!
