On this tour you will learn about all the history and flavors that represent the province of Puerto Plata, how they live and to which the locals are dedicated such as schools, universities and public transport, as well as you will be entertained to taste the types of rum and a delicious dessert in the chocolate factory. We will visit the pink street, a walk in the parasol street, a cigar factory to see how the cigars are made, the museum of amber and barley. The central park surrounded by the old Victorian houses, the cathedral San Felipe with its beautiful architecture. we will stop at the sea wall to appreciate the beautiful view of the Atlantic sea where the rock of Neptune is. You can select the places to visit and you can also choose the starting time.

Catedral San Felipe
Its foundation dates from 1502, but due to the fire caused by the restorers in 1863 it was completely destroyed. And it wasn’t until 1956 that it was completely restored, although in 2008 it was remodeled. The cathedral has great religious value for Dominicans and is one of the most important pilgrimage points in the whole Dominican Republic.

Its history dates back to 1898 when Isidoro Rainieri and Bianca Franceschini, natives of Italy, arrived in Puerto Plata and realizing that a hotel was needed to serve travelers decided to found the Lodging of Commerce, to which they later changed the name to Hotel Europa.

5.00Had a city tour Diomi. Probably one of the best tours we’ve done. Very attentive and informative of the area. The places we went to were beautiful. Some included Umbrella Street, Puerto Plata, Jesus statue, Rum Factory, Cigar factory, countryside, pink street, etc. Very nice tour if it’s your first time here to see everything. Very caring to help watch your step (as I am recovering from a broken hip). Great for all ages. Highly recommended and definitely will go on different tours with the company.

He made our Puerto Plata stop unforgettable, showing us all the highlights like Umbrella Street, Pink Street, the fruit market, Neptune statue, and the beautiful San Felipe Cathedral. We even stopped at El Rincon del Cafe for the best iced coffee of the trip. With just three couples, the tour felt personal and relaxed. Highly recommend Diomi if you want to see it all without feeling rushed! 🌴

5.00Excellent city highlights tour in Puerto Plata! Diomi was an outstanding guide and made sure we saw all the must-see spots, including Pink Street, Umbrella Street, the fruit market, the Amber Factory, the stunning Catedral San Felipe Apóstol, and the Neptune statue. There were only three couples on our tour, which made it feel much more personal. Umbrella Street was the highlight for me, and our stop at El Rincon del Cafe for an iced coffee was the perfect touch. Highly recommend — ask for Diomi!

5.0010/10 experience! Some friends at our resort had a great city tour with Diomi and recommended him to us. We jumped on it because the resort was charging triple the amount for the same excursion, and people we personally knew could vouch for his safety. He arrived early to pick us up, pointed out highlights on the drive but wasn't overly chatty, and took us on a private tour around town. We chose how long we wanted to stay at each stop (amber factory, chocolate factory, cigar factory, umbrella street, pink street, fortress area, Puerto Plata sign, church, town square, etc.) Didn't feel rushed nor slowed down by other tourists. Walking was minimal which was great because I'm pregnant, and the whole tour was about 2 hours. He even went to fetch the car and pick us up at the end instead of making us walk back to it, which wouldn't have been far anyway, but was a nice touch. He also took an abundance of photos of us on his own phone and sent them to us via WhatsApp after! Highly recommend, would tour with him again.

5.00Solo traveler here but met fellow travelers for Puerto Plata City Tour. The city tour in Puerto Plata was absolutely wonderful, and our guide, Diomi, made it truly special! From the moment we started, he was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area’s history and culture. We loved learning about the its rich history and strolling through the colorful streets near Parque Central. The visit to the iconic Amber Museum was a highlight, and the views from the Mount Isabel de Torres were simply breathtaking! Our guide kept the tour fun and engaging with interesting stories and local insights. The tour was perfectly paced, with plenty of time for photos and questions. If you’re visiting Puerto Plata, this tour is a must. Personally, it gave me a deeper appreciation for the city and the people. It made my trip even more memorable. Highly recommend!

5.00Diomi was exceptional from start to finish. He picked us up from our hotel right on time and immediately made us feel comfortable and welcomed. His vehicle was spotless, spacious, and extremely well-maintained... you can tell he takes pride in what he does. The tour itself was incredible. Diomi is so knowledgeable! He knows his history inside and out and shared fascinating details and dates that really brought the city to life. He never rushed us and allowed us to fully enjoy every stop at our own pace, which made the experience feel relaxed and personalized. We visited Pink Street, Umbrella Street, the fortress, the church/central area, a local neighborhood, an amber shop, the silver Punta Cana sign, and a chocolate and coffee shop. Unfortunately I wouldn't pass the test to remembering the names of all these locations 😅 We never felt pressured to buy anything but we bought some chocolate goodies. The grand finale was the breathtaking panoramic view of the city from above. That last stop alone was worth it! Diomi was polite, professional, and even took beautiful photos for us. Truly above and beyond service. If you’re visiting, do not hesitate, book with Diomi.... highly, highly recommend! 🙌✨
