On this tour you will learn about all the history and flavors that represent the province of Puerto Plata, how they live and to which the locals are dedicated such as schools, universities and public transport, as well as you will be entertained to taste the types of rum and a delicious dessert in the chocolate factory. We will visit the pink street, a walk in the parasol street, a cigar factory to see how the cigars are made, the museum of amber and barley. The central park surrounded by the old Victorian houses, the cathedral San Felipe with its beautiful architecture. we will stop at the sea wall to appreciate the beautiful view of the Atlantic sea where the rock of Neptune is. You can select the places to visit and you can also choose the starting time.

Catedral San Felipe
Its foundation dates from 1502, but due to the fire caused by the restorers in 1863 it was completely destroyed. And it wasn’t until 1956 that it was completely restored, although in 2008 it was remodeled. The cathedral has great religious value for Dominicans and is one of the most important pilgrimage points in the whole Dominican Republic.

Its history dates back to 1898 when Isidoro Rainieri and Bianca Franceschini, natives of Italy, arrived in Puerto Plata and realizing that a hotel was needed to serve travelers decided to found the Lodging of Commerce, to which they later changed the name to Hotel Europa.

5.00We were vacationing in Puerto Plata and had an amazing experience with our tour guide, Diomi from Diomi Travels. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions throughout the tour. He also recommended one of the best places to try sancocho, and we all enjoyed it together, which made the experience even more special. One moment that really stood out was when we ran out of cash while shopping for souvenirs at local shops. Without us even asking, Diomi paid out of his own pocket, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. Overall, we highly recommend his services. Definitely reach out to him if you want a great tour experience in Puerto Plata. P.S. He also takes amazing pictures! We barely had to take out our phones, and he sent all the photos to us right after the tour.

5.00Diomi provides us with a great personalized tour of Puerto Plata, making us feel at home. Well we had an opportunity to visit places that included purchasing local goods, we also got to see a little bit of real life, even getting to shop at the local grocery store and eating like a local. He is an excellent tour guide, his English is perfect, and I prefer to spend my money on a local guide than someone from the cruise ship booked tour. Five stars, I do recommend, will use again.

5.00Had a city tour Diomi. Probably one of the best tours we’ve done. Very attentive and informative of the area. The places we went to were beautiful. Some included Umbrella Street, Puerto Plata, Jesus statue, Rum Factory, Cigar factory, countryside, pink street, etc. Very nice tour if it’s your first time here to see everything. Very caring to help watch your step (as I am recovering from a broken hip). Great for all ages. Highly recommended and definitely will go on different tours with the company.

He made our Puerto Plata stop unforgettable, showing us all the highlights like Umbrella Street, Pink Street, the fruit market, Neptune statue, and the beautiful San Felipe Cathedral. We even stopped at El Rincon del Cafe for the best iced coffee of the trip. With just three couples, the tour felt personal and relaxed. 5.00Excellent city highlights tour in Puerto Plata! Diomi was an outstanding guide and made sure we saw all the must-see spots, including Pink Street, Umbrella Street, the fruit market, the Amber Factory, the stunning Catedral San Felipe Apóstol, and the Neptune statue. There were only three couples on our tour, which made it feel much more personal. Umbrella Street was the highlight for me, and our stop at El Rincon del Cafe for an iced coffee was the perfect touch. Highly recommend — ask for Diomi!
