5.00Our family booked a tour of Vestmannaeyjar on our day trip there, and it was one of the best all-around tours we've taken, ever. Ebbi was a consummate tour guide, and did a fantastic job of explaining the unique history of the island, centered around the volcanic eruption in 1973. He shuttled us efficiently all around the island, taking us to interesting and photogenic spots, and even demonstrated the acrobatic maneuvers he learned as a child, using ropes to swing himself around a cliff wall to gather seabird eggs. The highlight for us was the stop at the recreated stone house in the Viking Town, where we got a history lesson on life on the island in the distant past. The details of the interior were amazing, and the backstories of the life-size figures inside provided unique insight into their lives. To finish it off, at the end of the tour, we had a tasting of dried fish, butter, and black lava salt, topped off by a shot of vodka. This was a great experience from start to finish, and a must-do activity on any day trip to the island.

5.00Am amazing tour of the Island ... And truly, we could not have asked for a better guide than Ebbi — a lifelong island resident whose family roots here go back to the 1100s. His stories, humor, pride in the islands, and deep connection to the land made the entire experience come alive in a completely different way. So engaging and so interesting.. What an amazing day. I wholeheartedly recommend this.

5.00Ebbi is a world class host- knowledgeable and accommodating with a great sense of humor as well. This tour visits volcanic eruption sites, a recreation of an original settlement, and puffin nesting cliffs.
