Great Guide & Desert Experience - Disappointing Camel Ride Description

Our desert tour overall was a great experience thanks to our amazing guide, Khalid. He was friendly, fun, and made the dune bashing through the sand an absolute highlight — it was thrilling and beautifully done. However, the camel ride portion was very disappointing. The description clearly made it sound like a 30-minute experience, but when we arrived, we were told that what we paid for ($90) only covered sitting on the camel, walking about 10 feet, taking a quick photo, and then getting off. To actually ride the camel for the described duration, we had to pay extra on the spot. To make matters worse, Viator refused to take any responsibility, claiming they’re just a third-party and that the inaccurate description on their own website isn’t their problem. That’s incredibly frustrating for travelers who rely on accurate listings when booking. Khalid and the desert drive itself deserve 5 stars — but the misleading advertising and lack of accountability from Viator brought the experience down overall.

We had an amazing tour into the desert. Our guide and driver, Irshad was AMAZING. So knowledgeable, friendly and tailored the tour for us. He was an amazing driver on the dunes - so much fun, had many photo opportunities, went to the sea and finished with star gazing. Thank you for making it a very memorable evening and showing us your gorgeous country.

We had an amazing desert safari in Qatar with our guide, Nawafi. From start to finish, the entire experience was smooth, exciting, and perfectly organized. Nawafi is an expert driver who handled the dunes with great skill, while being exceptionally polite and professional throughout the trip. What made the adventure even more memorable was his deep knowledge of the desert , he shared fascinating stories and cultural insights about the region and its landmarks. He’s also a talented photographer, capturing stunning shots of us against the golden dunes and sunset. Highly recommended! If you’re planning a desert safari in Qatar, ask for Nawafi ,he’ll make your trip safe, fun, and truly unforgettable.
