Join us on this popular 1h30minute quad bike ride into the desert! Certainly a MUST-DO in Namibia! Desert Explorers is considered the number one adventure hub along Namibia's coast and you will not be disappointed by our excellent and friendly service and professional guides. We also prioritize the conservation of our desert by only taking set-out routes and ensuring our desert stays clean. Desert Explorers will be sure to give you an unforgettable experience in Namibia.
Our tours are not private; however, you will likely head out with your own group in off-peak season. We generally provide one guide for every six guests. Note that youth who ride their own quad bike pay the adult price.

Experience the sheer thrill of riding a quad bike through Namibia's boundless expanse of shifting sand dunes.This activity is a 90 minute guided quad bike ride into the oldest desert in the world. Guests will receive a short introduction and safety briefing before departure. The tour starts out slow and steady as we head to the larger dunes, giving you a chance to get a feel for your quad bike. Our quad bikes are extremely easy to handle and our guides will be with you every step of the way. Many of our guests have never been on a quad bike before, and always boast a thrilling experience after the trip. Stops will be made when necessary and to take photos - one must capture this amazing experience. Kids are more than welcome. This is surely one of the 'MUST-DO's" in Namibia!

5.00I really enjoyed this experience and I am honestly glad I did it with a friend. I would definitely recommend giving it a try. They are based really close to the hotels in Swakopmund and they offer a pickup service, which was very much appreciated and made everything super easy. The whole setup is very to the point. You arrive, get your helmet, the instructor explains exactly what you need to do and then you are straight into it. What I enjoyed most was the mix of dunes. We got to ride both the big ones and the smaller ones, try a few tricks if I can call them that, and really experience the terrain properly. The guide who rode with us was great and very aware of the experience we wanted. He completely understood that we would want to stop to take photos and videos and he was more than happy to capture us riding, doing tricks and moving through the dunes. That extra effort made a big difference. I would strongly recommend booking at least an hour and a half so you can properly enjoy it. If you can, go for longer. It is absolutely worth it and definitely something I would recommend doing.

5.00Being the first time we quad biked we had a great time. In addition, the monitor, seeing that we learned how to drive fast, led us through some very funny loops, which we repeated at our request. We left very punctual and finished at the normal time, so we were tipped. The dunes are spectacular and if the day accompanies you will enjoy beautiful views. Highly recommended.

5.00With Sakkie as our guide we had a very fun and safe experience-90 min quad ride and sandboard ride. He provided all the safety information we required and was very attentive. It was super fun. Check in and hotel pick up and drop off were very timely and friendly. Excellent service.

4.00I really enjoyed this and recommend it. I ride quad bike (ATV) several times a week, but not in the stunning environment. I did not rate full stars for a couple of small things. First, my phone does not work here and they do not have Wi-Fi, so I could not prove I had paid. I had to hike about five blocks to a cafe for Wi-Fi, to then screen shot my ticket. Do this before you go. Also I wore shorts, the bike engines get very hot. I suggest long pants, and keeping you feet as far out and forward as possible on the foot rests. I did 90 minutes, but if on a budget, an hour would give you the experience.
