Booked trip approx 4 weeks prior to arrival. Alexis was our guide. He was so professional, informative and spoke excellent English. Alexis showed genuine enthusiasm to show us round The Old Town part of his home city. Doing this walk was a superb introduction to a beautiful city guided by a true professional. Exploring Quito’s Old Town with Alexis of Ayllu-Tours was one of the highlights of our trip. He is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire experience feel both meaningful and fun. Instead of just wandering through beautiful streets without context, we really understood what we were seeing — the history, the architecture, and the stories behind it all. Alexis explains things clearly, speaks excellent English, and is open and responsive to questions. We learned so much about the Historic Centre, and he also made us feel very safe and comfortable the whole time, which made it easy to just enjoy the experience. What made this even better is that Alexis also offers private tours — we ended up booking one with him to Mindo Cloud Forest, and it turned out to be one of the best tours of our entire trip! If you’re in Quito and want an informative, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable guide, I can’t recommend Alexis enough.

Exploring Quito Old Town with Ayllu was fantastic. He is very knowledgeable and friendly and made walking around the old streets more valuable and purposeful rather than just wandering around aimlessly. Also made me feel very safe.
