After being transported to the Kaituna River, hit the water for an exciting journey on a lively stretch of whitewater with more than a dozen rapids and drops, including iconic Tutea Falls (7 m/22 ft). Navigate a steep volcanic gorge cloaked in native forest as your guides share the river’s stories, cultural significance. Back at base, change into dry clothes, relax, and preview professional photos captured during your run (available to purchase) before return transfers to your starting point. Learn about kaitiakitanga (guardianship), tikanga (protocols), and the awa’s (river's) cultural significance to iwi (local tribe).

5.00Great team at Kaitiaki adventures, with safety top priority. Our 'helm' Himmi was fantastic, explained everything and prepared us for what was coming up, and fostered a team camaraderie. Totally unforgettable, loved every minute. If you don't mind getting thoroughly wet and like a bit of adrenaline, this is a 'must' whilst in Rotorua - you won't be disappointed!

5.00As we were first time rafters we felt safe and we all enjoied it. We expected the water to be very cold but the swimsuit provided by Kaitiaki and the adrenalin kept us warm. We will do it again for sure.
We stayed in the raft - no flipping joke!

5.00We had a great time on the river. Our guide, Sam, was very knowledgeable and enabled those who were nervous to feel comfortable and confident. He suggested a few different activities such as swimming down one waterfall holding onto the outside of the boat, and was a fun guide. I believe that Kaitiaki Adventures are safety conscious and I wouldn't hesitate to have another outdoor adventure with them - it was a real blast!

5.00We had the most fun on this activity, the waterfalls are incredible and the route is so pretty. The guide was hilarious and we felt so safe. Honestly a must do! So worth it.

5.00What a fun experience! The crew were amazing and we had Drax as our guide which was nothing sort of fantastic. He was so funny and professional, allowing us to have the best experience possible. Definitely rate this tour, nothing but laughs.
