The rainbow mountain tour does immerse you in the Andes wildlife within an extraordinary landscape. On rainbow tour, you will see arenaceous rock mountains, within the Vilcanota Andean range which is also well known for its concentration of snow peaks. The rainbow mountain hike, is one of the best attractions on this kind that you will see in Peru because it give you an idea of the glaciers that were around millenia ago. Hiking through an unknown and wild territory, snow-capped peaks, herds of alpaca, until you arrive to your top of the rainbow mountain destination.

This is a fascinating experience to get on as we will visiting one of the mountains which one held a massive amount of ice, over millions of years ago. Our adventure of the rainbow mountain trek will start at 4:00 am on an incredible 3 ½ hours driving journey crossing land of wild desert landscapes, snow-capped peaks and herds of alpaca. Once we get at the end of the bus trip, we will have to get ready for 4 hours of hiking, prior to that we need to take our breakfast to get some energy. From Chilca (4,300m / 14,200 ft), a spot of the trailhead of our rainbow mountain tour will show us the way up it will be an uphill hike to reach the famous Rainbow Mountains. Finishing our rainbow mountain tour, we will start returning back to Chillca village to catch our private transport back to Cusco, arriving around 19:00 hrs approx. , where we will drop you off at your hotel.

5.00Mariela has been an amazing guide all along our trip to Cusco. We did the Rainbow mountain hike with her as well as we visited the archaeological places of Pisac, Ollataytambo, Maras and Moray. She was feeding us information about the culture and history of pre-Incas, Incas and colonial times and made us feel connected with the culture. She took us also to places additional to our itinerary to make us understand the culture and history and showed us an amazing time the whole time!! We cannot overlook the amazing photos she was taking of us everywhere we went! An amazing guide and person! Thank you Mariela

5.00We spent the week with Valencia’s guides, specifically Miguel and Elizabeth (who was an incredible and patient guide for us at Machu Picchu) and primarily Mariela who was the most calm, sweet, educational and patient person to lead us up Rainbow Mountain and throughout the Sacred Valley that we could have hoped for. She became family-like to us and we are grateful to have spent time and learn from her about her Incan and Peruvian cultures. Nearly all our family trips I plan myself, but this area can be somewhat more difficult to plan and execute smoothly. I highly recommend Valencia travel. They made this trip as simple as it could have been, even helping us when one of our entrance tickets to Huayna Picchu along with a bus ticket to the citadel were neglected,. It all worked out very calmly. Thanks again to you all—you made this a most memorable and spectacular trip for us!

5.00Mariela cared for our well-being and happiness every step of the way while giving us incredible insight as a descendant of the Incas and expert on Inca culture. Rainbow mountain’s colors were better than expected and the view of the entire area from the 16,470 ft summit was remarkable. The kicker was that the drive from Cusipata to Rainbow Mountain was unexpectedly spectacular.

5.00Frank Jara lead us on an excellent adventure to Rainbow Mountain. We also did a tour with Frank a couple of days prior to Humantay Lake. Taking the Humantay lake tour first prepared us for the 16k foot altitude at Rainbow Mountain. Both adventures were outstanding and highly recommended.

5.00I was at Rainbow Mountain in December 23, 2022; it is an amazing experience. The organizer was Claudia who did an outstanding job. Before we arrived Cuzco we she organized the the tour four days and five nights. The last day was at the Rainbow Mou1ntain. Claudia recommended to do it at the last day in Cuzco. She said that our body might get used to the altitude in Cuzco. And that happened and we were ready to go the Rainbow Mountain. She also mentioned to walk slowly, and to stop when it was necessary. I am not a young man (and I am Literature professor) and thanks Claudia's recommendations I did not have any inconvenience with altitude and a great experience. All the other tours organized by her were great too; Machu Picchu, Ollaytantambo, Moras, the tour in the city of Cuzco. If you go Peru, really really you should go the Rainbow Monuntain. Palccoyo Mountain - an alternative to Rainbow Mountain

5.00We actually did a private tour of Palccoyo Mountain, as an alternative to Rainbow Mountain and are so glad we did. The landscape is just as beautiful, but the hike is not as challenging and the altitude not as high, which we appreciated as we we just coming off the 4 Day Inca Trail hike. In addition, there were maybe 50 other people there, versus the thousands typically at Rainbow Mountain. Edward, who was one of our guides for the Inca Trail accompanied us on this tour as well. We enjoyed spending more time with him on this tour and learning about Palccoyo. We had a nice breakfast a cute local spot on our way and returned there after our tour for lunch. Highly recommend as an alternative to Rainbow Mountain.

5.00My sister and I did this as our last full day of our week in Peru. It was our overall FAVORITE day of the week! We had an early pick up from the hotel, drove to Rainbow Mountain, hiked a couple hours to the top, took fun pictures, and rode horses down. We packed some coca tea with us to help with altitude. This was such a unique day, memorable experience, and amazing way to end our trip! I’ve hiked all around the world and never seen anything that looks like Rainbow Mountain. Willy was our tour guide and we loved him. He has a lot of knowledge, good sense of humor, and is a very caring and personable guide. Highly recommend!

5.00I was amazed by the perfectly organized trip. Yossimar made every hour epic! He knows everything about Peru. I would do this all over. again. He took the best pictures and he is great company!
