Your comrade, our guide, will be your host on the walking tour which portrays the most contradictory era of Serbia covering the period from World War II to 2000-s.
Conspiracy theories and urban legends from the 2nd half of the 20th century will take you through the rise and reign of Communism in Yugoslavia.
Places will tell you how Communist Yugoslavia was conceived, why the ritual of the pioneer oath was mandatory, the lifestyle rules of a common Yugoslav, and much more.
A symbol of public transportation, the trolley, will bring you to the Museum of Yugoslavia devoted overall to the life and deeds of Josip Broz Tito. A lot of anecdotes from the life of The President will make you feel that he was a celebrity and somehow you will feel the need to show him respect in the House of Flowers, his mausoleum.
Hopefully, we will bring you back safely to reality from the time when life was inspired by Brotherhood and Unity, and tailored by the size of the ordinary man.

This walking tour portrays the most contradictory era of Serbia covering the period from World War II to 2000-s. Our story can be started with a „once upon a time", nodding to the fairytalelike mentality of the generations born and raised during this period and the nostalgia for the golden years led by the towering figure of Josip Broz Tito. Conspiracy theories and urban legends from the 2nd half of the 20th century will take you through the rise and reign of Communism in Yugoslavia. You will meet our guide, your comrade at the place where the Communist Yugoslavia had been conceived. Republic Square is the place where Tito's inspiring speech as an overture for the proclamation of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia happened. All along the route of the tour, you'll see socialistic grey edifices belonging to the constructivism era mixed with numerous monuments from the era of the Yugoslavian Kingdom and the last couple of decades.
Terazije Square will tell you stories about glamorous holidays and festivities, and you will learn about world-known celebrities and untypical guests in Hotel Moskva. The former square of Marx and Engels with the high-and-mighty Trade Union Hall will tell you how the cult of work was the ideal of Yugoslavian society and how one miner became a superstar.

5.00Excellent and informative tour with Isidora. She was very passionate about history and had great answers to extra questions. A lot of walking in the summer heat, so be sure to bring extra water.

5.00We had a lovely time walking through Belgrade while learning more about the history of former Yugoslavia. The tour was both informative and engaging, offering a great mix of historical context and local perspective. Our guide, Isidora, was fantastic. She took us to several interesting and meaningful sights, and made sure we were comfortable throughout — always finding shade and adjusting the pace since it was one of the hottest days of the summer. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history, politics, or simply getting a deeper understanding of the region.

5.00The guide Dragor is very personable and knowledgeable about Serbian and Yugoslav history. He weaves in the information with the historical sites seamlessly. If you don't mind being on your feet a lot during the tour, I highly recommend this!

I learned so much about the history of Serbia in general as well as life under Tito. Dragor encouraged questions and answered them fully and with ease. Cannot recommend this tour enough. 11/10!

5.00Nebo is an awesome guide! He was super open to all kinds of questions and did his best to give a thorough overview of Yugoslav history as unbiased as possible. It was amazing for me as I learned mostly about Yugoslav history from a Western perspective, so to be in Belgrade and hear about the Serb perspective and Nebo’s own general perspective of the history was incredibly interesting for me. I learned way more than I ever imagined and it exceeded expectations for me - I was really looking forward to this tour in the former Yugoslav capital. Thank you very much Nebo!!

5.00We enjoyed our tour with Nebo. He was very knowledgeable. We walked around the city for about an hour learning about the architecture and history of the city. We then boarded a bus and went to the museum which was about a 15 minute ride. He explained the artifacts in the museum. It made the museum much more interesting. We also saw the gravesite of Tito.
