Laguna Chaxa
At this stop, travelers will visit the impressive Chaxa Lagoon, located inside the Salar de Atacama and part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve (Soncor sector). The accredited guide will accompany you on a tour of the authorized trails, where you can observe up close Andean, Chilean and James flamingos, as well as other highland birds in their natural habitat. They will learn about the ecology of the salt flat, the formation of salt flats and the importance of this lagoon for the conservation of local fauna. They will also have time to take pictures of the unique landscape, with the Andes Mountains as a backdrop.
Piedras Rojas
At this stop, travelers will enjoy a guided walk through the viewpoint of Piedras Rojas, also known as Aguas Calientes III, a natural wonder characterized by its rock formations of intense reddish color, product of oxidized iron, contrasting with the turquoise waters of the lagoon. The guide will explain the geological formation of the place, as well as the altiplanic biodiversity that inhabits the area. Here visitors can take unique photographs of the landscape, one of the most impressive in the Chilean highlands.

5.00We closed the red stones tour with the Horizon, but who operated the tour was the Andes Travel and it was impeccable! Our guide, Marta, gave very important explanations throughout the journey, and with an ipad she was showing the different types of animals that we would meet during the tour. The food was great and our group, despite being formed by people from all over the world, managed to get together super well and we had an amazing day. Thank you for the experience!

5.00Aside from the incredible and breathtaking views and places we visited, the guides and the driver were nothing short of exceptional. Everything was explained clearly, plenty of time given for those amazing photos and they took care of every detail. Breakfast and lunch were excellent, the eggs at breakfast and fresh bread , delicious. My partner felt a bit unwell at one point because of the altitudes and the crew took care of him by one guide staying with us and even calling a car to take us back up the hill, which was very much appreciated.
