  Amazing trip! We spent a week on the boat Cmte Siqueira along the Tapajós, Arapiuns and Amazonas rivers and without a doubt it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. The boat staff is extremely attentive, welcoming and attentive in every detail and have an amazing structure to welcome us. The meals were very well served, delicious and allowed to know Pará by the cuisine. The team at Tapajó was also super attentive, choosing incredible tours (balancing moments when we were better acquainted with the communities of the region, their cultures and battles, and that we were enjoying more peaceful moments on paradisiacal beaches - often just us occupying the beach). • The Good, Bad and MEH of the Amazon River Trip

  We cruised on Oceania from Miami on 12-18-22 to 1-8-23 and am posting on our experience. Ship is nice and decorated like the Ritz - beautiful. Staff is wonderful and anxious to please, however for the most part, the staff of the Excursion Desk, Concierge and Dining Room reservations are the exception. Food was good but not exceptional. Definitely not what it used to be. We found the excursions offered were blase and not informative or scenic. Most stack you in a bus and drive by things pointing where they are. Exception is the Boi Boi Indian Festival, Meeting of the Waters (offered in several ports) and the trip to the Christ the Redeemer statue. One we should have taken was in Manaus to the REAL rainforest to one that goes to the Indian village. Heard rave reviews. The other 3 offered there go to the same place to do different things. The trip out and back were 1 1/4 each way. You will have a more pleasant return to your home if you pay for custom air. Most flights out begin at close to midnight and last time to depart ship is 9 a.m. We shortened that by doing custom and we were able to leave at 4 p,m, We did not encounter any place where the vendors did not take US currency with the exception of Rio. Also Rio was the only place where we could not communicate in English - or find a person who could translate for us easily.

  First time in the Amazon and the ignorant here thought that I was going to enjoy a summer, did not know that there in January begins the winter, which is when it rains. Some crazy rains, by the way. From nowhere the world ends, suddenly it passes and everything is fine. The first few days were kind of strange - I felt the heat was so hot that I couldn't think right, but slowly this feeling was passing. Me, Van, Nati and Dóli-dól boarded this boat from the photo and immediately the crew came to present themselves. Commander Siqueira would be responsible for our safety. Face of few words but that passed us a lot of firmness - which was great since it would be our first time sleeping in a boat for several days. The father figure of our family. Nubia is his wife and she did everything she could to make us feel better. "Son, if you need anything during the night, just call me that my sleep is light." Pure mother's love. Dona Terezinha, the master of the kitchen. She must have found the gnt very thin pq for a few days her mission was to make us fat. I had everything: pirarucu belly, roasted tambaqui, surubim, piracuí farofa, tapioquinha pudding, tapereba juice, cupuaçu ice cream, among a thousand other delicacies that I no longer remember the name. Our grandmother. And I had Chestnut, a shy, young and full of energy boy - the younger brother who does everything without complaining. Whether it was day or night, as soon as I felt the wind announcing the rain running up the canvas that would protect us. We were happy those days. We slept on the outside of the rooms, seeing the stars of our beds mounted in the upper lounge and feeling in the body the fresh wind blowing the night. At Arapiuns, the arm of Tapajós, we know the community of Anaãs and their cultures of ferrão-free bees. We drink from the honey taken directly from the hive and then we mask what they call "chiclette." We know Tucumarte, a cooperative of women in Ucurureá, which treats the straw of Tucumã and makes crafts. We knew the community of Atodi and, there, his Nilson took us for a walk in the forest while showing the thousands of medicinal plants there and teaching us how to ignore the curupira. We've known the chopped monkey and seen how its seiva works like a glue, and the Timbó, a tree whose fruits act as poison for the fish, so strong that they no longer use it today - they know it would not be sustainable. Then we went to know the community of Sao Marcos and his Zé Carlos guided us on a tour in an Igapó. We saw dozens of trees and plants already submerged in the river that is filling with the rain. He told us the legends about the boto and then took us to his community, where we learned how to make mandioca flour (which the next day we would eat at Mrs. Terezinha's farofa). It also rolled a good afternoon, attracted on some beach, and we took a kayaking ride along the river while the Taiamás seagulls were looking for some fish, and a special night called Piracaia - a beautiful setting with candles and a table mounted on the sand was set up to surprise us on the turn of a walk. From there we went back to Tapajós to meet the Jamaraquá community. There Sabá took us to the Flona to see the centenary Sumaumas, and we were accompanied by the sounds of the Inambus - yellow-belly birds that like noise (during the pandemic they came to disappear, but have already returned). On the trail, we saw Sabá shave Tachi ants in his leg - it works as a repellent - and we tried a ant with lemon grass taste. We also went to meet the waters and saw the jumping boots that surround Santarém, where we walked along the shore. We visited the Igarapé-açú, where the staff lives in palafitas for when the river fills, and we took a boat tour for regional victories. To the staff at Tapajó Experiences, thank you for connecting us with such special people and providing such amazing experiences. Holidays with a taste of holiday!   From beginning to end, a unique experience. Vini and his crew do everything to make the ride amazing. And it was. Lunch in the community was divine. So did not see the sunset, because the weather did not help, but in return gave to stay enjoying the music of the boat, and the wonderful landscape of Tapajós.

• Travel by the tapajós river and arapiaus must-see!

  Vini is super friendly, attentive, and agile. He organized the tour for our class, which had more than 30 people and it went super well!   The whole trip was amazing. Vini was a guide and friend all the time, I indicate too much. Besides all the crew that received us with so much affection! Not to mention the walks that are beautiful

  The experience of lodging on the boat visiting communities by the River Tapajós and its affluents was amazing. Only 1 of the tours that were on the script was not performed, but the experience was amazing. Excellent food and the boat crew very polite, friendly and helpful.
