We would like to invite you to visit our Saami camp with hundreds of reindeer surrounded by stunning scenery and the famous Lyngen Alp mountains. This is a family friendly activity enjoyed by all ages. Our camp is far away from the city lights and noise, so it is the perfect spot to look out for the northern lights while being surrounded by hundreds of reindeer. The natural wonders can sometimes be predicted but never guaranteed. You will participate in the daily feeding session of the cutest herd of reindeer at our camp, and here you will have plenty of time to get up-close and personal with our charming creatures. You will also be welcomed into our wooden lavvo (Saami hut) to warm up when needed and there you will be served a range of hot beverages to drink (coffee, tea, chocolate) and a hot meal for dinner. Our expert guide will tell you about the fascinating reindeer and share some secrets about how to survive life in an extreme Arctic nature. By taking part in this evening excursion we hope you will be charmed by our reindeer - the true hero in the Arctic. At the transfer you will share a bus with up to 48 of our guests who participate in different activities.

The experience of feeding the reindeers was very nice, however, you'll only get one feeding bucket each, no refills. I think the maximum capacity per session is too high: in our case, there were 10 fewer people than the maximum capacity, but we still barely fit into the cabin to eat. Regarding the Sami culture, there was a final speech by a representative, mainly about the difficulties the Sami community is experiencing nowadays and a demonstration of traditional clothing. Finally, I don't know what chances we would have had of seeing the Aurora Borealis given the light pollution of the camp.

Informative and fun. Getting insight into the history and lifestyle of Saami culture was nice to have especially coming from a native. The interaction and feeding of their reindeer herd was fun. The reindeer can be a little feisty but most of them were gentle. I thought the feeding would be quick but they gave a lot of time for feeding and pictures which was nice. The native dinner was okay.

Wonderful experience. We learned so much about the Saami Culture, we spent time with the reindeer, dinner was ok, and then we saw some Northern Lights!! John and Michael were amazing hosts. Highly would recommend this tour!

Going up close with the reindeer is a great experience. Reindeer stew is also an interesting experience. Listening to or understanding the Sami was not always easy, but it went. The chance to watch the Northern Lights was there, but when it got interesting we should go back to the cabin and she told us a lot about the life of the Sami. After that we had 10 minutes to shop in the souvenir shop, go to the toilet or see the aurora borealis. It would have been nice to just have more time here - more flexible time allocation?

I would give this experience an average rating, as the whole thing was a bit touristy. We were promised a small group tour at the time of booking, but later found that they are taking two large busses full of people to the same spot. The trip was supposed to be about knowing Sami culture, but we met only one Sami lady. I am not sure that the experience can be termed authentic.
