Hi, this is Xaq, pronounced like Zack. I am a Guangzhou native and have been providing tour guide/translation service for foreign visitors in Guangzhou for 8 years.

Here's my suggested sample itinerary(7 hours) for first time visitors in Guangzhou: Pick up from hotel; Baiyun Mountain(electric car go up and cable car come down); Sun yat-sen Memorial Hall; Six Banyan Temple; Lunch at a traditional Cantonese restaurant to try dim sum; Xiguan old house community&Lychee Bay Park; Flower city square(Guangzhou Opera House,Guangzhou library,Canton Tower.etc); Drive back to hotel. He tailored the tour destinations and pace of the tour to our needs, and showed us his deep knowledge and passion about the city! My parents and son had a wonderful experience on the tour! 5.00Xaq was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Everything was well organized, the tour was interesting, and was customized to our interests, which made it especially enjoyable. We felt very comfortable the whole time and learned a lot about the city and local culture. As a lovely surprise, we received cute panda cups as a gift, which was very sweet!

5.00We had a great experience with our tour guide Xaq in Guangzhou! He was very accommodating to our needs, especially in finding delicious halal (Muslim) food. He was also flexible with our schedule, making changes smoothly as we went along. What we appreciated most was how helpful he was during shopping — not only did he help negotiate prices, but he even helped carry our shopping bags. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a kind, patient, and reliable guide!

The food is delicious and we were lucky enough the Xaq, our tour guide took us to an amazing local Cantonese dim sum restaurant and we experience delicious. Xaq was very helpful with any questions we had and also very knowledgeable about Guangzhou.

5.00My guide X̌AQ was amazing!! Worth the investment. He contacted me the night before explaining the tour and took time to know me to adapt the tour if necessary. During the tour we had bad weather and some places were closed by the government, but XAQ was able to call in advance to the other sites included n the tour to ensure we did not waste time going to a place that could be potentially closed. He made a minor change in the tour to compensate the time we did not spend due to closure of the attraction. He explained many things about the city even if they were not part of the tour, so I learned a lot! The food was amazing!! This was a very local place (and famoius) that immerse you in the local life (something you do not see in popular touristic cafes). Also nothing is in english so definitely a place you would not chose as a tourist if you travel alone. I believe I was the only not local in the place. 👍 Because I only had one day to visit the city, this tour was an investment for my time and my comfort. Finally during the tour I had no connection/data then XAQ supported me paying with Alipay for me (my coffee and other things) I was able to withdraw money from ATM to pay to him. Very convenient if you do not have alipay, or have connection issues. I was dropped out at the airport on time. Excellent choice as I did not carry my luggage during the day or have to go back to the hotel. This sound basic, but there is a lot of traffic in the city and you want to avoid spending time to pick up your luggage at the hotel. I recommend the tour!!!

5.00Xaq gave us a great tour of Guangzhou! I loved how a big focus of this tour was to see several parks. The parks gave us a great glimpse into local life. It was particularly cool to see the seniors singing/performing Cantonese opera at one of the parks!! Xaq also took us to a fantastic spot to enjoy some Cantonese dim sum. We were introduced to some local dim sum specialities that we had not had before at home in the United States. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is in Guangzhou and wants to get a taste of what life is like there! Some nice extra touches was that Xaq was prompt, explained the itinerary clearly, and even brought along umbrellas he gave us to use to keep the intense summer sun off our faces.

5.00Xaq is an amazing guide, and I highly recommend him for your time in Guangzhou. His communication from first inquiry to dropping us off at the airport were absolutely excellent. His is trustworthy, reliable, and incredibly kind. He has a passion for his home city and its history, and his command of English is really excellent. You will get a taste for life in this culturally significant global city that is off the beaten path of many standard China tourism itineraries. I highly recommend this tour and his services.

5.00We had a really wonderful experience with Zaq. Not only is he very knowledgeable with local history but more importantly, he is very thoughtful towards looking after our elderly parents. He always made sure they were very well taken care of. He is professional, warm and has fluent command in English. He is very adaptable with the different needs and changes in schedule so it is best suited for our elderly parents. He also has a great variety of itineraries that caters to different interests! Highly recommended anytime for a rich and warm experience in Guangzhou!

5.00Xaq, is a, One of a Kind, tour guide.., (probably the only one around...) If you manage to hire him, consider yourself blessed..!! The man is knowledgeable, helpful, respectful, accommodating, and virtually full of what one would look for in a tour guide.
