This hidden gem nightlife tour will show you a side of Shibuya that tourists never see. Step back into history, and visit spots and have experiences that locals have enjoyed for decades! Visit drinking and dining stalls that are hiding in plain sight. Learn about the culture of Tachinomi bars where diners snack on local seasonal dishes and drink with friends and coworkers. We enjoyed our tour of Retro Shibuya. Our guide was knowledgeable about the history of the area we visited. Seeing how some of the history is preserved in the food and design of the area gives you an appreciation of the culture. We especially enjoyed walking the historic hidden alleyways.

Wesley did a fab job showing us the more traditional food scene. It’s quite a compact tour so you don’t walk too far . Which means you spend more time learning about the area and eating, or drinking. We liked that. The Ramen stop was particularly good and we ended up the night in a very traditional bar about the size on my garden shed ! Excellent .

Jane was absolutely stellar. She has an in depth view and consortium of knowledge which really gave us a distinct understanding of the retro food scene in and around Shibuya. Would highly recommend. The amount of food is immense and the drinks were steady. All the goods I swear.

She was very informed of the history and brought us to amazing spots! She brought us to a cute Ramen spot and knew so many little spots while walking!

BEST FOOD TOUR EVER WITH SERENA FROM ARIGATO TRAVEL. My husband, teenage daughter and I did the Tokyo food tour. Serena had tremendous knowledge of Japanese culture and the foods there and she was extremely informative. Plus they accommodated my daughter’s multiple allergies. If that’s not enough, she was also one of the most delightful people I’ve ever met. Definitely go on this tour and use Serena!!!
