  My experience with Aurora Vikings was nothing short of magical! From the very start, their team went above and beyond to make our Northern Lights tour unforgettable. I wanted to plan a surprise proposal, and they helped with every single detail. The personal touch and genuine care they put into the experience made it feel truly unique. A huge shout-out to our incredible guide, Tomas. He was knowledgeable, warm, and absolutely dedicated to making the night special. Tomas knew exactly where to take us for the best views of the Aurora, and his enthusiasm was infectious. Not only did he help orchestrate the perfect moment for my proposal, but he also captured stunning, magical photos we’ll treasure forever. Aurora Vikings combined professionalism with heartfelt hospitality, and it’s clear they genuinely love creating extraordinary memories for their guests.   Magic! I feel extremely lucky to have seen the Northern Lights my first night, part luck and part genius - Tomas our guide was fabulous tracking the areas and then the fantastic photos he captured and very patient )) hot chocolate bonus warm up. I didn't know the camera captures the lights better than visually- he used a tripod they turned out great! Definitely recommend! Grazie Tomas! Tamara

  We were worried that we might miss the Northern Lights, but that was quickly put to bed after joining this tour. Tomas led our tour and was absolutely amazing! He was super knowledgeable and experienced. He explained the science of tracking them, level set with us in terms of expectations, and also explained some of the theories from the Vikings. His enthusiasm was infectious and he was happy to answer any questions and chat. We had a wonderful experience. Pick up and drop off, photos with a professional camera, and hot chocolate was included. I would absolutely recommend and would rebook if I visited again.   great experience,tour guide was great and really knew his stuff! he made the experience one to remember with great information about the history of iceland and knowing the perfect routes, i am so grateful we had Thomas as our guide. I will %100 recommend this excursion to everyone i know.

  Tomas was very thoughtful and knowledgeable. He made all of us feel comfortable and arlt easy wirh each other. He shared stories and made our experience even more pleasant. Hot chocolate and cookies were both delicious and the pictures turned out much better than expected.

  Hunting the northern lights can be tricky and these guides will do everything to make sure you catch them! On the night we went, we had snow, clouds, ice pellets and then finally a break in the clouds. They were beautiful and we had plenty of time to enjoy the view and get some incredible pictures. After, a little sweet treat was perfect to start the journey home! Thank you!

  Tomas made this tour a fantastic experience from start to finish. He has a deep understanding of the science of the Northern Lights, which he was eager to share, and he knows many hidden dark-sky spots that made for excellent viewing despite challenging weather. Despite us repeatedly pestering him for pictures, he always obliged, and it’s clear that he loves his job and is passionate about sharing this national treasure with visitors. Finding out that his company is a small business made me even happier that we chose them for this experience.

  What can I say about Aurora Viking and our amazing guide, Tomas… amazing, wonderful, fantastic - I could go on and on with the superlatives. This trip was booked before we left the UK as we wanted to do the ‘small’ tour. There was around 20 of us in total and we set off just after 9pm. Tomas was so good at explaining the lights and how it all ‘worked’, he talked about the equipment he was using to find the lights, which was really interesting. After driving out of Reykjavik for about half an hour, we pulled over and all piled out of the bus and there they were, the Northern Lights, such a stunning phenomena right there in the night sky. Tomas set up his camera and got us all in our groups/partners and took some pictures. He made sure he got everyone at least once (some wanted more and he was happy to oblige). After about 25 minutes, the clouds came over and the bridge to Valhalla vanished. Slightly gutted we got back on the bus, expecting to return to Reykjavik, oh no, Tomas found another gap and off we went again. We ended up at a car park near a waterfall, just outside Selfoss, and the lights danced for us again. There were greens, pinks and a bit of purple visible to the naked eye but seen through a camera, they were magical. Tomas’s passion, knowledge and joy about the lights was even more visible than the aurora! He explained everything with this passion and joy and he seemed so excited to be showing us the lights and teaching us about the myths and science. His passion was infectious and it made the experience so much more special. More pictures were taken, of everyone, hot chocolate drank, with ginger biscuits dunked & eaten. A quick trip to the waterfall, couldn’t see much as the aurora had dimmed but could see the ice and hear the falls. After a quick comfort break, we headed back to Reykjavik and the boringness of street lights and clouds. We will never forget the magic of the aurora borealis, the beauty of the lights literally dancing across the sky. Tomas, our amazing guide, thank you for making it one of the best nights ever and for sharing your knowledge and love of the aurora. We would 100% recommend Aurora Viking tours (and Tomas) for your northern lights excursion!

  Having a difficult time finding the right words… this experience was AMAZING! We’ll be talking about the Northern Lights for years! This tour group made it, though! Communication was easy and the pick up was on time, In the van was equipment that helped locate the Norther Lights. Our guide Trond had a wealth of knowledge and a great sense of humor. I know there are many companies that offer this tour, but from my personal experience with dealing with another, Aurora Viking is the best!
