On this small group fishing tour, we will take you to the best fishing grounds in the bay. Our captains are experienced fishermen, have years of experience and are happy to teach you all the best techniques! To ensure that everyone has the best experience possible, we only take a certain amount of passengers on each trip.
On board you'll get the all the necessary fishing equipment as well as protective clothing. As an added bonus, the crew will barbecue your catch on board, complimented with some potatoes and homemade sauce, and if you catch a lot, you may even keep the rest!

The most commonly caught fish is catfish, cod, haddock, mackerel and pollack - see more here.
We recommend wearing good sturdy shoes, clothing that can get dirty an appropriate clothing.
Although our success rate is very high, the tours are run in wild nature and therefore we cannot guarantee a catch on a particular tour.

Enjoy 3 hrs. at sea with our excellent and highly experienced crew! On board you will find all the necessary amenities you can expect and if needed you can even borrow a rain coat or boots to keep you dry. No previous fishing experience or license needed, as the crew will take good care of you and teach you all the best techniques. We will sail to the best fishing grounds the bay has to offer and guide you along the way. Any questions you may have will be answered by our friendly and personal crew. As a special treat, the crew will even BBQ a light lunch out of your catch. Make sure to take in the amazing views of Faxaflói bay along the way!

Personal and friendly: With only 12 or less passengers on board, this experience is certainly bound to be personal and enjoyable.
Duration: 3 hours: The tour is usually between 2,5-3,5 hrs.
BBQ your catch: This tour combines a unique fishing experience topped off with a BBQ meal of your catch onboard! An experience like no other.
Faxaflói bay: Tour departs from the Old Harbour and focuses on the shallow parts of S-Faxaflói bay, close to Reykjavík.
A small yacht or similar: Step onboard the charming boat Elding II (or one of our other smaller boats) at the floating pier.
Keep your catch: Our crew will be happy to filet some of your catch if you catch a lot and want to bring some home!

5.00Tourist oriented 3 hour sea angling session within the harbour at Reykjavik. All gear is provided, I got a short and stiff rod with the trusty old baby Senator 113H, loaded with mono that looked around 40lb. End rig a couple of crude looking latex commercial lures that transform in the water to look very like a small fish. Tangle resistant and overall as idiot proof as you could wish. The crew, who spoke excellent English, gave a quick and clear demo of what to do. The boat was roomy enough for the 12 anglers aboard, and was clean and well equipped for the task. Fishing was done on the drift with a drogue to slow it up. Iceland has wisely excluded other nations from her seas, and polices that effectively, which means a thriving industry for both commercial and sport fishing. Fishing was excellent, I had haddock, pollack, cod, and coalfish, sometimes two at a time. I think everyone had at least decent results. We drifted three different areas, and on the last the coalfish were so numerous they were grabbing the lures on the drop. If I did get to the bottom, but failed to catch a cod or haddock quickly, I found winding up a few turns immediately hit the coalfish again. We only wanted a modest amount of eating fish so the smaller ones and less tasty species were returned. The crew barbied some cod and haddock for us to eat on the way back, very simple tasty and ultra fresh. As a bonus there were lots of seabirds to see, mainly the greedy fulmars and a good number of puffins. Didn't see a whale this time but sightings are not unusual. If I was lucky enough to return I would like to take my own gear and fish a bit lighter, but I recognise that loan gear needs to be usable for even the least experienced, so they had that right . Great fun and warmly recommended.

5.00Really fun. Met some great people and the crew were awesome. They were super friendly and helpful. This was my second time doing this trip and I would go back. There were some locals on the trip as well and it was great talking to them about Iceland

1.00Cancellation by the provider without informing customers. We flew 1 hour and paid parking for 4 hours to discover at the office of Eleina Whale Watching that the activity was cancelled due to the weather conditions. Since then we have no more information or refund. It’s easier to pay than to be reimbursed apparently.

2.00We drove for 1 hour and paid parking for 4 hours before discovering at the ticket office that the activity was cancelled due to the weather conditions. I understand that the weather does not allow to go out but an email or a phone call would have been nice. I have paid in full for the service and expect a refund without delay.

5.00Captain Jacob is an experienced sailor and fisherman. His boat is very well equipped and safe. He knew where he wanted to take us to provide the best chance of catching fish. We had a great time and caught several fish. We would recommend his services hands down.

5.00Our Sea Angling & Gourmet tour with Elding was an absolute blast! From start to finish, the experience was well-run, exciting, and a perfect way to spend a day on the water. We caught plenty of fish, and the crew made sure everyone felt comfortable and had a great time. They were helpful and always ready to assist with gear, tips, and encouragement. The best part? Enjoying the fresh catch grilled right on board. It doesn’t get any fresher than that!

5.00This was really fun and cost effective. First we got to spend 2 hours fishing for cod and other fish only 30 Min boat ride from downtown. Fishing was alot of fun and very easy. Second-you can keep your fish. We had then fillet the fish on the way home. Our family of 5 went home with 3 gallon zip lock bags of different fish fillets. Since we had our campervan, we cooked the fish over 5 days around ring road. Fish tacos and grilled fish. Was incredible and probably saved us a 1000 US DOLLARS IN FOOD. Trip paid for itself Second we saw pufins and whales on boat ride. Third The two guys running it are hilarious amd helpful Fourth- they cooked us an awesome meal that would have beem 50 dollars per person in downtown All in all a great trip

5.00We went after a rain storm, only 3 of us fishing but it was the most amazing experience! Every time we dropped a line in we had a fish! The cooked catch was to die for! Great time for someone with fishing experience!
